Episode 127: A Wacky 1983 McDonald's Training Video; Origin Story of Cape Cod Hospital; Forgotten 1980s Cartoons; Invention of Photography(1-10-2024)

Have you ever wondered how to cook McDonald's Chicken McNuggets in excruciating detail? I know you have. Well, Episode 127 has the answer. It comes in the form of a wacky McDonald's training video from 1983 complete with classic food item puppets, ominous music, cheesy jokes, and stereotypes galore.
Healthcare and hospitals are a 24-hour business in the 2020s. A century ago it was a far different story. On Cape Cod in the early 20th century it was common for the Hyannis Hospital to close during the winter with people needing to find ways off-Cape for their needs in the off-season. This week we tell the story of how Cape Cod Hospital came to be and the people that made it possible.
Children of the 1980s rejoice. On this week's Top 5 we are going to unearth some forgotten 80s cartoons. Whether you haven't watched them in decades, watched them this morning, or have never heard of them, these are bound to give you a tasty dose of nostalgia.
There will be a brand new This Week In History and Time Capsule looking back at the dawn of photography and Louis Daguerre unveiling his Daguerreotype process in 1839.

    Midweek Mention... Rocky III

    Midweek Mention... Rocky III

ROCKY III is a surprise smash hit for all the dads this week as we appreciate it's absurdity, excess and Cuban heel styling. Listen in to hear us discuss 80's icons, montages, our love of Eye Of The Tiger and a view of the movie from the other side of the iron curtain.

We love to hear from our listeners! By which I mean we tolerate it. If it hasn't been completely destroyed yet you can usually find us on twitter @dads_film, on Facebook Bad Dads Film Review, on email at baddadsjsy@gmail.com or on our website baddadsfilm.com.

    Until next time, we remain...

    Rocky III

1982 Season continues as Joel and Chris discuss Rocky III!
They've never seen any of the other films, and they don't know anything about boxing! Can they turn their relative ignorance into a pile-driving knockout blow of insight?
Joel falls in love with the limpid eyes of the young Stallone, Chris ponders the very existence of Mr T, and they both engage in possibly their most shambolic attempt to get The Thing into a movie so far!

A film where Rocky Balboa needs to defeat a new, young challenger. Kyle thinks he might have the eye of the tiger. Dave is just tired and he hasn't even run up any steps. The Machine always enjoys a good montage. Jenn Sanford returns to express her undying love for this franchise.

    5 - Driving in the Dark – 1996 to 2004

If you love something enough can you bring it back to life?

Ford is a giant company and trying to get them to bring back the Bronco is not going to be easy. There are two groups working towards that end. On the outside, there are dedicated fans and owners around the country. They meet on weekends, drive the back-country trails, and dream of a new Bronco. On the inside, there is a handful of Ford employees scattered around the corporation working secretly to create the conditions for a rebirth.

Sonari Glinton uncovers the final resting place of a concept car that went nowhere, and discovers a series of full-size clay models that were never before seen publicly.

But will it all be enough to bring back Bronco?

    The A-Team

    The A-Team

Well folks, Bryan’s turn at Shitty Movie Summer comes to an end with this week’s episode.

They were framed for a crime they didn’t commit. Before they became soldiers of fortune, they were just convicts wanting to clear their names. They have a plan. And they love it when plans come together.

Submitted for your approval 2010’s A-Team. Starring the shitty dad from Taken, Jackson Mayne, Aurora’s Dad who was Maleficent’s friend, and angry howling MMA guy. Co-starring Mrs. Timberlake, Annabelle Dude/Aquaman’s brother, some blue-eyed balding guy, and Major Dad.
