Siwan speaks with Dr. Wayne Koster of the Arthur Rylah Institute, at the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, to talk native fish recovery and research. Wayne leads research projects on native fish ecology and conservation across Victoria and more broadly in south-eastern Australia. The focus of much of Wayne’s recent work has been on the movement and spawning ecology and conservation implications for riverine fishes, particularly the development of flow regimes for fish in regulated rivers. He also does some fascinating work monitoring and tracking eels in our rivers and oceans.

Andy Smith or Smithers as he is also known, is a well renowned fisho dedicated to the cast! Andy is based down in not-so-sunny Warrnambool, Victoria where he runs Ebbtide Tackle. Ebbttide has a national and international cult following with anglers in the casting scene, particularly with anglers who focus on GT’s, Tuna, Kingfish and XL Murray Cod.
In this episode the boys chat to Andy about his experiences in the tackle industry, Ebbtide Tackle and of course the big four topwater species that Ebbtide cater for! Topwater casting for Tuna and Kingfish is a fast growing trend down here in Victoria and the boys chat in depth about it’s emergence and rapid growth over the last several years.
