I love learning about Mary and Jesus! In the Nag Hammadi library we have a curious statement by Jesus stating that he shall make Mary "male." While there are some unique commentaries on this, may I offer another suggestion that ties in with the "mysteries" of the kingdom and the temple?

    About Me: ⬇️

I am a nonfiction and fiction writer who absolutely loves research! I have 3 published books that you can get on Amazon, the latest is "We Are Adam: the Partnership of Adam and Eve in the Garden and what it means for you."

I live on a homestead in the country with a large garden, several chickens, 3 dogs, a cat, a large garden, and a few acres of forest just to myself. I love yoga, gardening, reading, spending time with my best friends (which are my husband, 4 children, and their families.) Sounds cliche, but they are the ones that know all about me but still like me.

Elaine Pagels - Women in Gnosticism and the Early Church

Elaine Pagels - Women in Gnosticism and the Early Church

Elaine Pagels is one the most celebrated scholars of early Christianity in the world.  She is the author of such popular works as "The Gnostic Gospels," "Adam, Eve and the Serpent" and "Beyond Belief: The Secret Gospel of Thomas."  Dr. Pagels talks with Sean Marlon Newcombe and Dawn "Sam" Alden about the role and identity of women in early Christianity including the radical early movement known as "Gnosticism."

    Love, Death and Nonduality

    Love, Death and Nonduality

In this episode we come to the final chapter of the Gospel of John, which I have been interpreting as a proclamation of the gospel of nonduality. In this chapter we explore how the gospel of nonduality had to struggle with dualistic gospel in the early centuries of the church. This involved a struggle for leadership in the church after the death of the apostle John. We look at the role of Mary Magdalene and women leaders in early nondual Christianity, as well as the nondual Gnostic texts of the Nag Hammadi library.

RMM-Podcast: Episode 027: On the Coevolution of Christianity and Hermeticism (and Chapter IX TBOP)

In this episode Ben shares a paper first given for the Colorado College SRICF detailing the syncretism of various traditions in Alexandria around the turn of the last millennium, exploring common themes between Hermetic and Greek writings with certain Christian Apocrypha, such as were found at Nag Hammadi in 1945.

TMR 191 : Dr. Andreas J. Kostenberger : The Heresy of Orthodoxy

TMR 191 : Dr. Andreas J. Kostenberger : The Heresy of Orthodoxy
We are joined by Dr. Andreas J. Köstenberger, Senior Research Professor of New Testament and Biblical Theology at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, for a detailed discussion on the important book he co-authored with Dr. Michael J. Kruger, The Heresy of Orthodoxy. Subtitled "How contemporary culture's fascination with diversity has reshaped our understanding of early Christianity", The Heresy of Orthodoxy deconstructs the fashionable trend—both in academia and popular culture—to view early Christianity as essentially a diverse collection of irreconcilable theologies, and through historical reasoning cogently argues for the priority of normative Christianity.
