We hear and learn about Coach Suhr’s original career aspirations, how and why those changed. He discusses how he shaped himself to where he is today. We get his perspective on why the game of basketball is so loved and revered and how he knew he was making an impact not on the game but on the lives of those he touched. 

Get an inside scoop on being an assistant coach for Dick Vitale at U of Detroit Mercy (yes, that Dickie V!) Then Coach tells what it was like to coach Dominque Wilkins when he was with the Atlanta Hawks and then we learn how he got connected with Chuck Daly and ended up with the Detroit Pistons. Coach goes into depth about their relationship and why he decided to write the book –“Chuck Daly Coaching U”. 

He tells us about the inter squad scrimmage game with The Dream Team at the Olympics and what team he feels was a better team then this Gold medal team. Great stuff here! He was involved with the Grand Rapids CBA team, the reason he went there, the greatest deal he ever made, and why he left. 

Brendan talks about what is the harder to develop skill set or knowledge of the game? How Coaching U came about and hosting the Coaching U Podcast (See Links). He is the only professional coach to be certified as a Master Strengths Coach by the Gallup Organization and what this means to him.
