Join us in welcoming Pastor Eric Cepin back from his restorative two-month sabbatical. We're about to embark on a captivating exploration titled "The Power of the Gospel," where Pastor Cepin lays bare three transformative dimensions of the Gospel. The journey starts with a shift. Through the Gospel, we're no longer mere beings; we're cherished children of God. This metamorphosis fosters an intimate, fundamentally transformed relationship with the Divine through Jesus. As we reach the climax, Pastor Cepin spotlights the Gospel's salvational aspect. Our faith, he explains, is the key that unleashes the Gospel's transformative power. 68 - Try On A New Identity

    68 - Try On A New Identity

Cindy Esliger discusses the idea of trying on a new identity as a way to develop new skills and attributes that can advance our careers. Adopting a different version of ourselves requires taking a risk but also enhances our agility and flexibility to grow into new situations. Cindy unpacks the benefits and the challenges.

Our environment contributes to how we show up in the world and at work, therefore it’s important to assess our environment accurately when trying on a new identity. What new traits, behaviors, or qualities align with where we want to go in our careers? What limitations are we trying to surpass? Cindy addresses these questions and also cautions against losing our authentic selves in the process.

A new version of ourselves may well serve us in becoming more adaptable, which is essential in any workplace. Cindy offers eight tips to help develop flexibility and adaptability, and then acknowledges five potential pitfalls we should be aware of in advance. This episode examines how forging a new identity can spur us to greater success by addressing new attributes we want to foster. It is possible to grow through an identity shift, but it’s also a challenge.

God Sanctifies Saints | Acts: How To Be A Jesus-Filled Church | Week 18

God Sanctifies Saints | Acts: How To Be A Jesus-Filled Church | Week 18

The most compelling apologetic for Jesus is not a well-turned phrase but a radically changed life. In Week 18 of our Book of Acts series, Pastor Josh McPherson guides us through the process God uses to sanctifies saints as demonstrated in the story of Saul of Tarsus becoming the Apostle Paul. Before God knocked him off his horse he was a well-off, gritty, genius, workhorse, who was a single, religious, zealous, wrong man who God radically redeemed and transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit through one simple act of obedience at a time.

60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: This! Is the Life I Want to Live!

60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: This! Is the Life I Want to Live!

Hello to you listening in Hinesville, Georgia!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

Perhaps like me you’ve spent time looking for something but you didn’t know what it was.

For some time I had felt stuck in the cross-roads of my life, the true way was wholly lost to me. I was not flourishing! So, I left everything I’d known for the past 20 years and drove away washing up on the shores of Whidbey Island some 1500 miles later. Why Whidbey? Pretty place, nice people, good pie.

Little by little I’ve been creating a new identity cobbling together ideas, visions, skills, imagination. To keep me headed in the right direction I keep asking: who’s it for, what’s it for, and why does it matter?

I’m not done yet but I’m closer than ever. As the poem goes:

"her entire life led to the

    moment when she said,

“This! Is the life I want.”

    And she never again

    wasted time on anything

that wasn’t that."  [Kai & Fia Sky, Flying Edna]

Story Prompt: How might you be creating a new identity? Personal? Professional? Something else? Write that story!

Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something.   All that matters is you have a story.

You’re invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, I hope you’ll subscribe, share a nice shout out on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time! Who Does He Say That I Am?

Who Does He Say That I Am?

Part 17 of 23 in the series, "Belonging to Him". Jesus once asked his disciples, "Who do you say that I am?" In our encounters with Jesus, we should also answer this question, but then we should ask, "Who does God say that I am?" Understanding and claiming our identity in Christ should be a foundational and constant confession of faith. Because who we are is shaped by who we're with. And who we are in Christ will define what we have in him and how we then choose to live (recorded in 2019.)

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday.

Perhaps like me you have spent time looking for something but you didn’t know what it was.

I felt stuck in the cross-roads of my life where the true way was wholly lost to me. So, 4 years ago I left everything I knew, a home and community of 20 years, a very successful nationally recognized litigation consulting practice and drove 1500 miles washing up on the shores of Whidbey Island. Why Whidbey? Pretty place, nice people, good pie.

Little by little I’ve been creating a new identity cobbling together ideas, visions, skills, imagination. To keep me headed in the right direction I keep asking: who’s it for, what’s it for, why does it matter?

Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something.   All that matters is you have a story.

60 Seconds is your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that. This is the place to thrive together. #093 The Tale of the Re-Invention of Lori Ruff & Susan LeFevre

The Double Lives Of Lori Ruff And Susan LeFevre - Two Women Who Re-Invented Themselves

**KD IS NO LONGER WITH ORBITAL JIGSAW OR BLUBRRY**

Formerly entitled "The Tale of the Fugitive".  Today, we are going to discuss two different stories...two women, one who changed her identity to hide from her family and everyone in her previous life, and the other who was running from the law.  The first story leading into the second involves the sad tale of Lori Erica Ruff...we take a look at how she managed to become a completely different person and the path her life took in the ensuing years.  Next we are going to discuss our fugitive.  In 1975 Susan LeFevre was busted by an undercover Michigan State Trooper selling heroin at a local pizza restaurant.  She claimed that the prosecutor pressured her into pleading guilty, admit to the crimes, and she would avoid jail time and be sentenced to probation.  But, when she went before the judge, he ended up sentencing her to 10 to 20 years...a sentence she says she didn't deserve.  A sentence from which she would escape, with the help of her grandpa, and she would run and hide all the way to California where she began a whole new life, got married, had children...had everything you could ever want...until one day when her past caught up with her.
