So to get started, Charlie, Ardina and I had a radio show on WVOX. It was started 13 years ago, and I've been on it that entire time. Ardina joined us about 7 to 8 years ago. You've been with us for like five years and Ardina has been the backbone of the show since she showed up. And Charles stern showed up about three four years ago and then took a short respite. Charles is a technology guy. He is a communications person. And the reason this will be a success is because of those two. My background is in journalism. I was a New York Post reporter if you want to call that journalism, Ardina was the first African American camera woman at any television network in the United States. So you have trailblazer people. Richard, when were you mayor of Mount Vernon?
Richard Thomas 1:34
I was mayor from 2016 to 2019. But apart from your shows on WVOX I had a show on VOX as well.

But I just I just wished that we could have found a way to say goodbye on air for you know, for those loyal listeners. And I've always enjoyed being on the air. I was looking forward to bringing my kids back on to help them when they get their show. But nonetheless, I just know that

So 96 was All Eyes on Us. That was a show that we as a teen taskforce created then under the advice of current mayor Shawn Patterson Howard who was our advisor. We created a show called All Eyes on Us. And that was our way to just talk. What we felt was on our heart and mind.
Charlie 3:16
Oh, Shawn Patterson, Howard was your faculty advisor at Mount Vernon High School?
Richard Thomas 3:21
Yes, in 96.
Charlie 3:22
Got you on the radio?
Richard Thomas 3:24
Yep. And we ran with it. We had a great, great
