In an emergency episode of On the Tiles, Thomas Coughlan is joined by Newstalk ZB's Jason Walls to analyse a chaotic 24 hours for the National Party. What was Judith Collins thinking in demoting Simon Bridges, and was this a 'bridge too far' after other shows of strength? What does this mean for National's already beleaguered board? Who will replace Collins as leader and what will her legacy be? And which National MP emerged on top from this mess?

Episode 6: What the hell just happened with National's leadership?
The original plan for this week's episode of In the Loop was thrown out the window when former National Party leader Judith Collins sent a bombshell email late on Wednesday night, demoting her rumoured leadership challenger Simon Bridges over historical allegations of inappropriate comments. Less than 24 hours later, it was Collins that found herself demoted, losing her leadership of the party as her MPs fought back against the move.
So what exactly happened? Rosie and Katie break down a chaotic day at Parliament before chatting with former National Party press secretary Ben Thomas about Collins' downfall and what the future holds for the party.
