Old Dominion Talk With Scotty Kay on US99

Old Dominion Talk With Scotty Kay on US99

Fresh from CMA Fest and still on tour, Old Dominion chopped it up with Scotty Kay on US 99 to talk about their upcoming tour, their process of selecting music as a group, and even had time for a fun game of 'Wrong Lyrics Only.'

As the No Bad Vibes Tour continues, the group talked about how they refuse to let any concertgoers with bad vibes ruin the show. "We've definitely had to stop a show. It's important to us because when something like that happens, it affects a lot of people... Everyone's paid money to see the show so we definitely don't want the hundred people around the problem to miss a couple songs or whatever because of one jerk," they agreed.

The group also revealed that their fans hold a lot of weight in the decisions they make on what songs are played on tour: "There are big portions of the show that are dictated by the fans," they say.

However, when it comes to choosing to create songs as a group, they shared sometimes it just comes down to a raised-hand vote, or maybe "one person saying, 'I really really care about this song," they admit. Adding that even choosing which singles get released first sometimes is a struggle.

Listen to the full interview above for more -- and for a good laugh while they play 'Wrong Lyrics Only."

Shut Me Up - Hudson Valley's Sarah Owens

Sarah Owens from Hudson Valley talks about their latest release, Shut Me Up.
    ******
Hudson Valley is the result of fiery rock ‘n’ roll and pop-punk melded into a female-fronted country band that has achieved more in the first few years of inception than most. Not only did their first EP “Seven” debuted at #17 on the iTunes Country AlbumChart – their debut single “Can’t Have Nothin’ Nice” was picked up by Radio DisneyCountry with the music video still in rotation at all Ole Red locations. Even after the initial success, the band proceeded to sell-out shows at The Listening Room, 3rd, and Lindsley and The Bluebird Cafe.
Their upcoming single, “Shut Me Up,” expertly converts the Old Dominion track into an electrifying country-rock track, putting their undeniable talent and full-throttle sound on display.

In this episode, Jason talks about his own experience of being a homeless addict and what makes him relentless that allowed him to become a successful, in-demand celebrity hairstylist. With a partnership with Country band, Old Dominion, for the song "Some People Do", they spread the message and clear the misconception about people not changing and that there are some that truly do when they're ready.
