Ep.135 Remaking The Road to El Dorado (2000) Animation as Live Action
The Road to El Dorado (2000) was not a box office success proving that road wasn't paved with gold. Dreamworks first animated feature may have been a flop, but the film is still fondly remembered by those who saw it. It is full of colorful characters, expressive animals, and even has an evil wizard. The script was from the writers of The Pirates of the Caribbean with a star studded voice cast that includes Kevin Kline, Kenneth Branagh, Rosie Perez, Armand Assante, Edward James Olmos, Jim Cummings, Frank Welker and Tobin Bell. With music by Hanz Zimmer and Elton John this film had all the hallmarks of a major live action blockbuster. Invasion of the Remake tries something a little different this week by reimagining The Road to El Dorado from animation to live action much like Disney recently did with Beauty & the Beast. Join us as we add a little shine back into the gold of the forgotten animated film, The Road to El Dorado.

Episode 65 - Blade Runner 2049 (47:55)
This was a followup to the cult-classic, sci-fi film noir, Blade Runner where replicants and humans have a rocky coexistence once free will is discovered by the replicant slaves.
This is a beautiful movie that has taken great care in the craft of film making, has a deliberate pace that realizes the vision of the director. Unfortunately, they miss the off-world ship about having a coherent story. We get into it.

Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/AnarchoCapitalist perspective.
We use movies as a starting point for people who may not be familiar with this way of thinking. Discussion of the plot and decisions that characters make in relation to morality and violations of the non-aggression principle are our bread and butter.
We also will highlight and discuss any themes or lessons from Austrian Economics that we can glean from the film.
The point is to show what anarchy actually is with instances that are presented in film.
We publish at least once per week; and occasionally will do specials surrounding holidays or events (elections/olympics) and have guests.
