We visited Helia Brewing Co. in Vista, CA and brought down with us Ponytail Red Ale 5.2% ABV. Rob thinks Angel is getting too old for concerts and talks about that one time he almost died in a mosh pit during Ozzfest 20 years ago. Also, this might be the managers favorite brewery. Find out why. Cheers. IG @beerbellysociety TikTok @beerbellysociety Email beerbellysociety@gmail.com

Episode #123 - Year of the Demon Tour - End of the European Leg

Episode #123 - Year of the Demon Tour - End of the European Leg

In this week's episode, we bring you in-depth commentary and audio clips from the final three gigs of Night Demon's September 2022 European run. These shows - all in Germany - were in the towns of Schrobenhausen, Kassel and Trier.  You'll hear about a freezing cold performance in a tent late at night, as well as Night Demon's long and triumphant history in Kassel, and what it was like to play "Satan" in a church-owned youth hall in a town they had never played before.  You'll also get the lowdown on how the band almost missed their flight from Frankfurt in the early morning after the Trier gig.  The episode concludes with Jarvis, Armand and Dusty touching down in Montreal to commence the "Canada or Bust" leg of the tour.

THE CARL ARRINGTON ARCHIVE Episode 5 OZZY OSBOURNE 1981

THE CARL ARRINGTON ARCHIVE Episode 5 OZZY OSBOURNE 1981

THE CARL ARRINGTON ARCHIVE Episode 5 features an excerpt from Carl's interview with Ozzy Osbourne, recorded in London in March of 1981.  Ozzy had just released "The Blizzard of Ozz" after the breakup of Black Sabbath.  Throughout this hilarious conversation, the rock and roll icon speaks to Carl about growing up in abject poverty in the factory town of Birmingham, his knack for playing the class clown, landing in prison at the age of fifteen, how music helped him see the world and much more.  Not for Ozzy fans only, Carl's interview reveals a surprisingly thoughtful and insightful man behind the "lovable lunatic" we all know.

    Doc Coyle (Bad Wolves guitarist)

    Doc Coyle (Bad Wolves guitarist)

Episode 150- Doc Coyle from Bad Wolves! This band has had  four number one rock songs on the charts, including their smash hit “Zombie” which is a cover of the Cranberries song.  Before he joined Bad Wolves he was in a band called God Foribd for 17 years, and he’s also filled in for Lamb Of God, written blogs for VH-1 and Metal Sucks, and hosts his own podcast, the Ex-Man with Doc Coyle. We went down some rabbit holes together and we talk conspiracy theories, UFOS, politics, the media and all that stuff. And of course we talk music and Doc opens up a little about what happened with the change at signer for Bad Wolves. Overall, one of the most enjoyable episodes of the show for me. Hope you agree!

Episode #18 - Black Friday - Black Sabbath Special

Episode #18 - Black Friday - Black Sabbath Special

This is the Black Friday Black Sabbath Special. In this episode, each member of Night Demon breaks down how and when he discovered Black Sabbath and how that journey of discovery influenced his approach to his instrument.  You'll hear the band identify specific songs and passages of Night Demon's music influenced by Sabbath, from the obvious to the more unexpected. The guys discuss the Black Sabbath tribute band, Warning, formed by Jarvis and Armand, and how Dusty came to fill in on drums at one Warning gig before he was ever a part of Night Demon.  You'll also hear about Night Demon's inclusion of Sabbath songs in their legendary cover sets, as well as their "Save Me Now" / "Into the Void" / "Mastermind" medley.  And they talk about their decision to record a cover of the oft-overlooked Sabbath gem "Turn Up the Night."
