    Cardiology

Pediatric cardiology fellow Dr. Rohin Moza and I chat all things cardiology: how PEM/other ED providers can improve their process with the pediatric cardiology consult (2:11), pediatric EKG interpretation (15:00), management of children with congenital heart disease (33:40), cardiac ultrasound POCUS vs ECHO (53:35), and management of MIS-C patients from the cardiology perspective (1:02:39). Tributes to reggaeton and getting better.  And it's always the heart.

    Urology

    Urology

The first inaugural podcast in this series. I talk with a Dr. Arthi Hanallah a current urology chief resident / rising pediatric urology fellow on all things urology (basic workup, renal trauma, torsion, phimosis/paraphimosis, post circumcision management, & bonus mircolithiasis).  Also reverent / irreverent throwbacks to Arthur and '90s-2000s NBA.  Sorry hydronephrosis enthusiasts but that topic will be covered on a future podcast.

A new POCUS assessment tool w/ Dr. Kiyetta Alade

A new POCUS assessment tool w/ Dr. Kiyetta Alade

Today’s episode is all about a brand-new clinical assessment tool for PEM POCUS that’s rolling out this June.  Dr. Kiyetta Alade and her colleagues are offering the exam free of charge, however, the test will only be available for a few short days!

I sat down with Dr. Alade who told me about the years long process it took to get here.  We recorded in a small room at the SAEM conference in Las Vegas, so I apologize for the background noise.

If you are interested in learning more about the test, contact myself or email Maha Khalil mjkhalil@texaschildrens.org
