As moms, we have a lot on our plates.  Well, go ahead and add "keeping kids entertained" to your to do list.  For infants, it may be tummy time and block toys. And for toddlers, it could be dolls and cars.  Whatever the choice, we are often trying to find things that are both educational and will keep our children occupied.

We had our first experience of a family play-date hang out at our house and, it went way worse than I ever could have imagined. I knew meltdowns would be possible, but I’ve never seen my daughter explode completely in front of new people before. In this episode, you’ll hear 2 parts:  My initial, next day raw reaction with very vulnerable thoughts… and then a 2nd part where I come back a few weeks later after having processed my thoughts about it (both with my therapist and internally) and sharing some tips in general for anyone else who plans to have a playdate.

Battle ignores a stranger in an orange vest and drives where he wants to get to work. With Will briefly trapped in the great frozen north(ern California), we got together for a chilly, scrappy two-fer this week with a couple of short topics. First we chat about Panic's Playdate, with an emphasis on our time spent compiling sample games and otherwise fiddling around with the new handheld's SDK and web-based Pulp game creation tool. Then we get into some home network spring cleaning, from unidentified and forgotten devices to lazy Raspberry Pi update strategies. It's like two short podcasts in one! Actually, it's exactly that!
