People Pleasing, Gift Giving & The Lump In My Breast

Putting everyone above yourself often results in feeling burnt out, resentful, and/or questioning what you want. I talk about why I'm no longer a people pleaser - toxic things I would do, gift giving, love languages, and an update on my last visit to the doctors. Ladies, check ya tits, and be your own advocate. If something feels off or weird consult a doctor ALWAYS, and if you still feel weird get a second opinion! The past week has been mentally challenging for me, so it's a shorter episode (I'm in my feelings right now).

On today's episode of Yours Mentally we talk about people pleasing and the effects it has on one's mental health. This episode is in conversation with Ami Patel who is a Psychotherapist.

We then ask what negative effects can people pleasing have on a person?
We also talk about the typical traits of a people pleaser and ask her what are some common motivations of people pleasing?
We also ask how can one recognise that they are becoming a people pleaser?
We then ask if people pleasing eventually ends up damaging our relationships?
We also discuss if people pleasing be a trauma response in any way.
We ask her what can one do if their partner is a people pleaser?
Lastly, we ask Ami, how does one break the pattern of people pleasing?

When we look at those things related to the will of God, we see that the word holiness stands out. And I've shared with you that this word holiness is best understood by the purposes of God. It is only when an individual has been born again, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, that this person can become a vessel an instrument, we can say it this way, a servant of living God, and that we can carry out God's purposes and live in a way that he sees as holy and holiness. What he meant is this really something that's important to him we're not, we should simply listen to what the Word of God says. And then believe it and implement it into our life.
