    About David Meerman Scott

    David Meerman Scott spotted the real-time marketing revolution in its infancy and wrote five books about it including The New Rules of Marketing and PR, now in an 8th edition.

    Now David says the pendulum has swung too far in the direction of superficial online communications. Tech-weary and bot-wary people are hungry for true human connection. Organizations have learned to win by developing what David calls a “Fanocracy” - (the subject of his Wall Street Journal bestseller) - tapping into the mindset that relationships with customers are more important than the products they sell to them.

    He is a massive live music fan, having been to 804 live shows since he was 15 years old, is passionate about the Apollo lunar program, and he loves to surf but isn't very good at it.

    When we first went to stay at home here I had a great deal of nervous energy. Sleep was a distant memory and “time away from work” was only a theoretical since work and home existed in the same space.  I’m sure many of  you have similar stories.   This created a surge of nervous energy as I started to figure out exactly  how to separate the two parts of life… and the  on deal with the unknowns we were all facing. I hit anything from honey dos to new challenges., My wife baked and started making masks.  Both came from a similar place.  Stress from unknown and loss  of “normal”.  Putting these projects into action kept us   balanced in an uncertain world and their results  are nice touch stone of the last  months…  in success, failure and any lessons I may have learned.   After all  its important to practice what you preach.
