    Find The Right Scene

    Find The Right Scene

In this episode of Navigate The Day, I explore the idea that the people we surround ourselves with can have a strong influence on who we become as a person. I start by sharing two quotes from Epictetus and Musonius Rufus that emphasize the importance of being mindful of our social circles. I then dive into my personal experience with different social circles, starting with my lack of a social circle at work due to the lack of professionalism in some of my previous workplaces. I also touch upon my decision to distance myself from some of my family due to their negative influence.

When it comes to my circle of friends, I discuss how some have made me better and others have made me worse, particularly during the time when I used to drink excessively. I talk about the difficulty of being torn between two communities - the addicts and the sober - when trying to get clean. Nowadays, my circle of friends is small, and although it isn't making me any worse, it isn't necessarily making me better either. I admit that I find it challenging to find positive and supportive people in person and that I am met with the thought that I am incapable of reaching my goals due to my location, upbringing, and education.

To conclude the episode, I reflect on the importance of being mindful of who we choose to spend time with and try to surround ourselves with positive influences that can help us find direction and purpose in life. I also suggest joining groups and trying to have more communication with people taking positive actions. Overall, it's important to find the right scene and to surround ourselves with people who will lift us up and help us become the best version of ourselves.

Thank you for listening and joining me on my journey of self-discovery!
