Milestones like this can be a great time for reflection.
So, as I reflect on my desires as a very young woman wanting to be a mom more than anything, to a mother of a child entering their double-digits, I encourage you to reflect on all that you've seen and done - maybe not over a decade, but even just this past year. You'll be surprised at just how much you've accomplished.

Many Routes - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 12-13-23 #1113
Couple things fitting into today's show - first thing that caught my eye was a post from a former student. It was about getting through some tough and challenging times and her journey through learning many lessons. I have found myself learning things every day to apply to my own journey through life - and many of these lessons come from my former students. I take tremendous pride in that since I shared with them that I am a life-long learner and one of my many goals for them was to become one too. The second piece that put today's episode together was a post from Mitch Albom, connected to his recent book, "The Little Liar". It's a quote that connected with me - "The heart has many routes to love, and compassion is one of them." Compassion was one of the many messages I got from my former student's post along with another post from someone I follow online, where he was celebrating a milestone of sobriety. So many great things to learn and pick up lessons from out there in the world. Be bold and humble enough to pick them up and apply them to your life. Thanks for listening. Jiu-Jitsu and Beyond: Discovering Truth through Martial Arts and Personal Exploration
Coach’s Corner – 12 Fitness Truths I Was Wrong About
Welcome to another solo episode of the Over 50 Health and Wellness Podcast. Today I'm sharing a bit about my personal yoga experience and reflecting on some things I've gotten wrong on my health journey.
I tried hot power yoga years ago - intense flows in a heated room. It was a sweaty struggle at first as an inflexible beginner surrounded by bendy yogis. But over time it helped me build strength, flexibility and mind-body connection.
I'm now re-exploring slower styles like yin yoga. It's challenging in different ways - sitting still and turning inward. But great for mobility and meditation.
Next I talk about things I’ve been wrong about. We all make mistakes and get things wrong, especially in ever-changing fields like health and fitness. I've learned a lot through trial and error. For example:
- What works for weight loss long-term is more complex than just calories in and out.
- Consistent balanced training is better than all-out intensity.
- Anyone can make a positive impact with health info; no one is too unimportant.
The key is staying humble and open to growth. It's uncomfortable admitting when we're wrong, but that's how we improve.
I hope this reflection provides some value. Thanks for listening - stay strong! Check the show notes for more details and resources from today's show.

S1EP172 Changing Your Perspective
One of my favourite quotes is by Dr. Wayne Dyer: "When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."
What are you ready to like about fear and failure?
Join me today as I remind you how these two things can become something to embrace, learn from, and grow instead of things to be shunned and avoided.
S1EP171 Embracing Failure
Why are so many of us afraid of failure?
Were you born knowing how to walk or ride a bike or did you have to work at it and learn?
Today I am sharing some of the reasons why we're all so scared of failure and how to re-frame failure as a learning experience, the kind that helps us grow the most.
S1EP166 Resisting Change
Join me today as I share something that is a bit embarrassing now that I look back on it. Like, why was I resisting this change so much? A lot of the time we don't even realize how much we are resisting a change that, once we do change, leads to a much better place.
It's my hope that by sharing this with you, you take some time to reflect on areas of your own life where you are consciously or unconsciously resisting something and that next step, make that change, and really take control of your life.
S1EP162 Motherhood: The Good, The Bad, The Lovely
Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! Today, I invite you, whether you're a mom or not, to join me as I share some of the things I've learned about my kids and myself while learning to be a mom.
One of the biggest things I learned is that in order to take care of my kids, I have to take care of me too!
We can only be the best mom, best partner, and best version of ourselves if we slow down enough to take care of ourselves in the first place.
2 CranioSacral Therapy: Deep dive into CST, temptation bundling with Ms Hilton & Mother's Day
In this episode we deep dive into CranioSacral Therapy (9:33), something Chloe has experienced over a number of sessions.
In other news Chloe can’t get it up (her tongue that is) and Steph is getting down with Paris Hilton.
We also include a post note on Mother’s Day and how this day can be so difficult for those who have lost a child or are longing for one.
What is CranioSacral Therapy?
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle hands-on technique that uses a light touch to examine membranes and movement of the fluids in and around the central nervous system. Relieving tension in the central nervous system promotes a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain and boosting health and immunity. TMJ= Tempromandibular joint. Some individuals can experience pain and compromised movement of the jaw joint and the surrounding muscles that a CST can support to release.

1 Reiki: Demystifying the moon, reoccurring numbers & Reiki
Welcome to our first ever episode of The Selfish Podcast! We introduce you to Chloe & Steph, two thirty-somethings living by the coast and looking to heal their mind, body & soul. They both come from very different perspectives: Chloe is a lifelong learner wanting to better herself. Steph’s newborn son died two years ago and she is trying to rebuild.
In this episode we demystify Reiki (21:54), taking you through the before, during and after of a session. Steph discovers a past life, Chloe breaks down the moon effects and the girls talk reoccuring numbers (11:11, 2:22) , oracle cards and nerves.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is an energy healing technique in which a Reiki practitioner (who has undergone formal training in this healing art) uses gentle hand movements with the intention to guide the flow of healthy energy (what's known in Reiki as life force energy) through the client's body to reduce stress and promote healing.

It's about relationship building, but it's not what you think.
The most important relationship you'll ever have is with yourself - so how to you go about nurturing and growing that relationship? Where do you even start? I hope to answer all of that and more for you today.
If this resonates with you, consider joining the WOW Membership for more content just like this.
S1EP154 I Dropped The Ball
Join me today as I share a story about "dropping the ball" and feeling like a failure because I had let my child down.
You may not have kids, but we've all felt like we let someone down at some point in our lives, even if that person was ourselves.
Did I cry? Or throw myself a pity party? Well yes, but I didn't stay there for very long, so listen in to see how the story ends in a much happier place than where it began.
If You're Not Learning, You're Losing!
Leaders are learners. Period, end of story. No debate! They are always looking for ways to improve, get better, and lean into whatever it takes to grow. And it doesn't stop with a degree in organizational leadership or get the dream sales job! The best leaders are LIFELONG learners, and they adopt the teachable attitude that everyone and everything can teach me something. So how do you develop teachability and the hunger to learn in your own life, as well as your team? Let's lean in and find out!
NOTES:
Lifelong learning
- The value of learning starts with the reality that everything you know, you've learned from somewhere or someplace else.
- You can't be the best by yourself. Who's someone further along than you?
How do you transfer the value of lifelong learning?
1. Set the example & model it first.
2. Create a work environment that sparks the desire for lifelong learning.
3. Invest in resources like books, conferences, leadership lunches, or guest speakers.
4. Set the expectation that your work culture will be a "learning culture."
"Everything I know I either learned from someone further along than me, or from mistakes I made."
One way to determine if someone has the the pursuit of lifelong learning is how to manage and deal with conflict. How do they learn & grow from mistakes?
"The healthiest teams I know are able to take friction and sparks flying without letting the conflict turn to disenfranchisement or become detrimental to the team. The friction acts like iron sharpening iron, creating more bonding."
3 Attitudes People Have Towards Learning (from John Maxwell)
1. The Arrogant Attitude - No one can teach me anything.
2. The Naive Attitude - Someone has to teach me everything.
3. The Teachable Attitude - I can learn something from everyone
TRUE or FALSE? Experience is the best teacher. Nope! Evaluated experience is the best teacher.
Studies show that a big time-waster is "looking for things." Make sure you find the best way for you to CAPTURE what you're learning. Write it down, take notes, even record a voice memo. We love Evernote!

Daily Thoughts With Coach Daly - Life Never Stops Teaching - Wed. 3-1-23 #857
* Sorry for the lateness of this one...
I am amazed at the things that I see and think about, when I'm focused in on being a lifelong learner. Great reminder about how life will teach us plenty along the way, but we can take a big role of what we "learn" every day!
