Does Perfection Precede Purpose? JKO shares some lessons from the Bible

Does Perfection Precede Purpose? JKO shares some lessons from the Bible

What do we do when our life is not perfect, when relics of our failures and mistakes surround us in our minds or everywhere we look? Do we wait to have it all together before we show up to help? Do we have to become perfect before we pursue our dreams?

I know the struggles that some of us face daily with limiting thoughts. I know the desire to hide away until our lives are perfect before doing the things we yearn to do. I know this because I struggle too. In this episode, I share the lessons I’ve learnt from the Bible about waiting for perfection before we live in our purpose.

The production process of this episode blessed me so much and I pray listening will bless you too. Please leave a review to let me know if it did.

How To Overcome Procrastination And Self-Doubt With Marilyn Lamer

How To Overcome Procrastination And Self-Doubt With Marilyn Lamer

Ep #35 You’ve probably heard the old saying,  “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!”

One of the main reasons people don’t finish big tasks is not due to laziness. It's not that they don't have the desire or the willpower either. Many times it comes from self-doubt and feeling overwhelmed by a BIG task.

In this week's episode on the Budget Divas podcast, my guest is fellow Budget Divas member Marilyn Lamer.

Marilyn discusses the importance of breaking down our big goals into bite-sized goals that are realistic and attainable. We also discuss how perfectionism can lead to procrastination and feeling paralyzed. Marilyn gives us tips to focus on our next step instead of the big goal.

Marilyn Lamer is from Honolulu, Hawaii. She is married and has two sons. Her oldest son is autistic with ADHD.  Marilyn has a huge heart for helping families with children with autism. Empowerment and positive mindset are two topics Marilyn is passionate about.

As a promoter with Innov8tive Nutrition, Marilyn is passionate about showing people how they can take and absorb their nutrition with nanotechnology body applications or patches. Marilyn likes to say that the wonder of your wellbeing is within your control!

S1EP114 Overwhelmed By My To-Do List

S1EP114 Overwhelmed By My To-Do List

Today I'd like to share about some of the things that have been going on around here and how the "pile up" has made me feel. In short, overwhelmed. Maybe you can relate?

When I feel like this, I have a technique that helps me focus on just one thing, and I repeat the mantra "The only thing I have to do right now..."

It's amazing how this simple little practice can help me find my center, get something done, and feel good about it, even in the face of a to-do list as long as my arm!

RtRV Show/Podcast: "If I'm not...who the hell am I?" One woman's journey to peace, ultimate self-trust and joy.

RtRV Show/Podcast: "If I'm not...who the hell am I?" One woman's journey to peace, ultimate self-trust and joy.

"I was like, well, holy shit, who am I then? If I'm not their mom, if I'm not their grandma, if I'm not the Raley's girl, who the hell am?!  I used to be somebody before all that." she said.

Losing yourself happens more than people really want to admit. You get stuck in a pattern of doing and being and then you wake up on day saying this very thing, "Holy shit who am I"?

Then there's cultural constructs and other people with whom you are co-creating your reality with and well you lose sight of your own way of being. You get pushed, pulled and held back by the "right" way to be doing something, acting or even just being "yourself".

In this episode my former client Kimberly Kern shares her journey of returning back to her wholeness and the wake up call that made her say, "I need help".

Kimberly decided that it was time for her to stop shoving things away and create the capacity to understand why she was experiencing certain things and how she wanted to experience her life without all the guilt ,shame and other peoples expectations.

She went from  - "There's something wrong with me" and "what do I need to do" to  "is this mine?" (without feeling bad about herself) and "nope that's yours".

She realized that "boundaries are for me not other people!" and that is wasn't her job to fix everything just because she was told she was a "fixer".

She opened her mind to being "empathic" and understanding the deepest parts of herself with love and compassion.

    AND

She experienced for the first time true freedom, joy and self-love more than she had ever thought she had the capacity to do.

If you're thinking to yourself, wow that all sound good, I want that! Reach out to me through this link and let's explore how you can create the freedom, joy, ease in life guilt and shame free. https://www.rachelfreemonsowers.com/Calendar_NorthStarCall

    S1EP107 Changing Course

    S1EP107 Changing Course

Join me today as I talk about some of the people that have inspired my own journey. Something I learned though, is that while they are wonderful beacons of hope, light, and love now, they couldn't have become that way if they hadn't faced some extremely dark, depressing, and even dangerous struggles in their lives.

And that has inspired me to share about a period in my life where my own darkness almost overwhelmed me.

S1EP101 Fall In Love With YOU

S1EP101 Fall In Love With YOU

Today I share about my darkest time and how I pulled myself out of the gravitational pull of a month-long pity-party.

I had to stop myself from trying to find happiness outside of me and focus inward. I had to really deepen the relationship with myself, ask myself some tough questions, and start to make changes in my life.

So are you ready yet to fall in love with yourself?

Whenever you are on your path, I'm here for you!

115 – Christmas Means Everyone Is Worthy of God's Love

115 – Christmas Means Everyone Is Worthy of God's Love

115 – You, and everyone on this planet, are worthy of God's love.

That's what Christmas is all about. God loves us so much, we are of such immense value to Him, that He sent Jesus to  show us the Way of Life.

We are worthy of God's love, not because of anything we did, but simply because we are God's children made in the image and likeness of the divine.

But all too often, we don't feel worthy of God's love because of mistakes we've made in our lives. That never stops God from seeing our inherent worth as His children and loving us unconditionally.

In this week's episode I tell about a time I tried to help a woman feel God's love, but she just couldn't accept it because she didn't feel worthy. She had made some serious mistakes and had been taught God would love her only if she never made a mistake.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to comfort her, because I wasn't able to remove her negative view of self-worth.

But I learned so much from that experience. We need to remove the obstacles and barriers we have erected, like guilt, shame, and a negative sense of worth, that block God's love before we can experience it.

God sent Jesus to show us the Way of Life, not to make us worthy of God's love, but because, as God's children, we are already worthy of God's love.

Christmas is an opportunity to see the worth of everyone. God sent Jesus because we are worthy of His love. If we weren't worth it, why would God  have bothered with us? If we weren't worthy of God's love Jesus wouldn't have spent so much time helping people by teaching, preaching, and healing.

This Christmas, please earnestly embrace the idea that you are worthy of God’s love. It’s not based on anything you have done. It’s not based on what you believe or don’t believe. It’s not based on where you live or any other external factor you define your life by.

You are worthy of God’s love simply because you are a child of God, created in the divine image and likeness.

And so is everyone else on this planet.

Can you see others in this light? The more you see everyone you come in contact with as worthy of God’s love, the more you will love them, and the more they will begin to experience their worth in God’s eyes for themselves.

My Christmas prayer for you is that you bear witness to and cherish your worth in God’s eyes and that you see others in this light, and help at least one person feel their worthiness of God’s love for them.

    S1EP78 Living The Dream

    S1EP78 Living The Dream

Today, as just a bit more than a year after our big move out west, I share and reflect on all the changes, big and small, that finally let me realize this big dream.

It was not straightforward, but those moments where I could focus on myself, healing with acceptance and love, were the most transformative.

I'm sharing this all with you, dear listeners because I believe now, more than ever, that you CAN live your dreams.

And I'm here to help you. Whether you are taking your first steps, or just need some support on your journey. I'm cheering you on!
