Mads Palsvig is a former investment banker from Credit Suisse First Boston, Barclays Bank and Morgan Stanley. He specialised in trading all fixed income products, focusing on Government Bonds and derivatives on those. He advised central banks and ministries of Finance on what they could do to finance their bond issuance at the lowest possible yield in order to save taxpayer money. The last ten years Mads has dedicated to studying, politics and activism. He started a political movement/party in June 2016 with the main objective to take back the privilege to issue the monetary base in Denmark to the people. He started the demonstrations against smart meters and the roll out of 5G in 2018. He has been one of the main organizers in the resistance against the corona lock downs and started the “pots and pans” demonstration against the Danish Law on Epidemic. Now Mads is working on economic tax reforms that will remove poverty and ensure everybody a life in dignity with economic security. The goal is to implement these ideas globally. In this conversation we talk about how he lost his job as an investment banker, why he formed a political party, why poverty doesn't have to exist, how money is formed, why income tax doesn't need to exist and how bankers steal wealth from people and countries. Cameron & Tyler Winklevoss had a heated appearance on CNBC last week to discuss the events of the Gamestop Short-Squeeze in the context of populism, the inequity of the current financial establishment, and cryptocurrency.

Their argument centers on the relationship between censorship and centralization –problems that don't exist in the crypto landscape. The $GME craze has been the epicenter of a growing protest against the institutional elite – this protest inherently calls for decentralization and distributed power. DeFi fixes this.

Brokerages like Robinhood having the power to limit trading based on a phone call is a war cry to adopt permissionless transacting. Cameron describes how this is an example of the people becoming disillusioned to the monopoly of modern money. The media establishment has vastly underestimated and vilified these "internet amateurs."

The Winklevi discuss how a money-making opportunity turned into a movement demanding institutional change, flaming the fires of broken trust after events like the '08 collapse. Public forums like Twitter and Reddit have become powerful tools to organize the masses, and the sentiments seen here reflect cryptocurrency's value propositions.

The big question remaining is how these events and arguments can serve as a rallying point for DeFi adoption. Cameron & Tyler are optimistic about DeFi's solutions to increasingly relevant and urgent problems in our current system.
