    Predator 2 (EP 113)

The conclusion of The Last Row Podcast’s “Predator Month” has the guys revisiting the often forgotten Danny Glover led Predator 2. Was Lt. Murtaugh a realistic and viable opponent for a Predator? Is it easier to fight a Predator in a city vs the jungle? Will a future 1997 really be littered with foreign drug warfare, and if so, will the mayor take a Ted Cruz-esque conveniently timed vacation to escape it all? Is having a Predator in your city the perfect violent crime deterrent? Finally, is Glover’s Predator weaker than Arnold’s? All of these questions, and more, will be answered! Additionally, Drew and Badway touch on the many sequels of the franchise, including the fantastic new entry, Prey.

Can the Predator franchise finally get back on track?

Or should this alien just buzz off back to space?

That is the question we will be answering in today’s review of Prey, the latest installment in the Predator franchise. There are plenty of reasons to have low expectations for this film, especially since so many sequels have been unquestionable disappointments.

Prey, however, subverts expectations in the best possible ways. The film is a refreshing return to the core elements that made the first installment of Predator so thrilling. It's a straightforward tale about survival and proving your worth, with plenty of fun action sequences thrown into the mix. Prey is also shot on location, a welcome departure from the CGI, which seems to saturate blockbusters these days.

While it’s a pity Prey won’t be released in theaters, watching it at home is undeniably convenient. If you’ve been feeling disillusioned with the Predator franchise, Prey may just restore your faith

    106 - Predator 2 [1990]
Today's episode is the sequel to John McTiernan's classic Predator. This time around the Predator is in a different kind of jungle: Los Angeles, California! Danny Glover is a hardened cop who doesn't play by the rules and has a fear of heights that plays no part in the story whatsoever, who's trying to take down local gangs but someone (or some THING) is killing gang members one by one. An interesting follow up to the original, check out what the guys think and let us know what you think of Predator 2! Check this episode out on YouTube!

    Batman vs Predator

    Batman vs Predator

Welcome to the penultimate episode of Season 2, Bat-Fanatics, and thank you for hanging out with us for another rotation around the sun. To celebrate our galactic trek, Joe & Kendall dive into one of the oddest crossovers in comic history: Batman vs Predator. Penned by Dave Gibbons (of Watchmen art fame) and pencilled by Andy Kubert, Batman vs Predator proves to be a shockingly competent crossover. Not interested in the simple cash grab of combining two properties, Gibbons has taken the time to craft a story that feels true to the Bat-Mythos and the lineage of Predator 1 & 2. Even better, the dichotomy of humans vs predator makes it easy to root for Batman while still enjoying the Predator’s rule of cool. Buckle-in, Bat-Fanatics, for some beautifully illustrated boxing, the Predator’s own war on Gotham crime, and a special Bat-suit only the 90s could love in this crossover that’s well worth the read.
