#6: The State of Industrialized Construction

#6: The State of Industrialized Construction

There are lots of ongoing conversations in the AEC industry about the opportunities presented by industrialized construction and what companies need to do to get ahead of this trend. In the latest episode of our Know It All podcast series, we asked an impressive group of experts about their thoughts on this construction method, what success looks like and how technology can help.

This episode, The State of Industrialized Construction, features insights from our own Justin Schwaiger, Director of Customer Success at Manufacton by ViZZ Technologies, as well as three other thought leaders: Nate Kaylor, Director of Innovation at Factory_OS; Nolan Browne, Founder and Chairman of ADL Ventures; and Daniel Hall, Professor of Innovative and Industrial Construction at ETH Zürich.

Justin and guests get together and explore different perspectives on industrialized construction, including tips for adoption, obstacles that can arise, and how teams can best collaborate to be successful. For anyone looking for more information on this trending topic, this podcast episode is a great place to start.

Benny Baltrotsky: Integrating Fabrication & Offsite Construction with MSUITE

Benny Baltrotsky: Integrating Fabrication & Offsite Construction with MSUITE
Benny Baltrotsky has been in leadership roles across the construction technology ecosystem, from the Construction Progress Coalition to eSub, and now MSUITE. We discuss the evolution of MSUITE and its role in the continued development of offsite and prefabrication processes. MSUITE provides a fantastic case study for construction technology companies, as it has found a balance of customer-led and internally generated innovation, and between configurability and "out of the box" settings that make it easy for early users.

    Ep50_Offsite Construction and High Performance

    Ep50_Offsite Construction and High Performance

Welcome to Episode #50!!! So many people are talking about offsite construction as an inevitable next step to solve the myriad housing issues we currently face, and we can't help but envision high-performance as going hand in hand with this movement. We discuss the evolution of these systems from the Sears Kit Homes of the 20's, to the race-to-the-bottom Post-war Mobile Home industry, to the Dwell Prefab dreams of the oughts, to the realities of today - both in the USA and in Europe. We'll discuss how the companies currently innovating in the space (including Phil's own BrightBuilt Home) are faring with their various business models, and what are the challenges and limitations are being faced by the different approaches.

We concoct a Corpse Reviver #2 just in time for Halloween, the recipe for which can be found on our Facebook page.
