    A Pregnancy Story | Sarah Brenay | Episode 27

    A Pregnancy Story | Sarah Brenay | Episode 27

    A Pregnancy Story
One women’s story of Adoption, IUI, IVF, And a Near Fatal Delivery.

    Sarah Brenay
    Wife and Mother of Three

This week is all about building families and the beauty and hope of an unconventional approach to parenthood.

*We talk with Sarah Brenay, wife and mother of three as she walks us through her heartwarming story of infertility, adoption and a near fatal delivery with twins.

Soon after marriage, Sarah and her husband had an immediate desire to start a family but they were quickly faced with the reality that this may never be a possibility when doctors discovered their infertility.

Sarah bravely shares with us her personal experiences with failed fertility treatments, IUIs, IVFs and a touching story of adoption when her good friend becomes pregnant and makes the heartwarming decision to place her baby with Sarah and her husband.

Shortly after her completed adoption Sarah and her husband decided to explore more fertility treatments in hopes of parenting biological children when a successful IVF landed them pregnant with twins and elated with the possibility of a bigger family!
It was late in the pregnancy when Sarah began to notice complications and was forced to deliver early. Those complications left Sarah with a life or death decision.

Sarah shares her story to bring hope to those who may also be struggling with infertility and bringing light to the beauty of the unconventional ways of parenthood.

Single Mom By Choice: The Road to Having Twins Without a Partner, with Twin Mom Jenn Bauer

Nat chats with Jenn Bauer, a single woman who decided to move forward with her life and fulfill her dream of having children, albeit without a partner. Jenn got pregnant with twins, who are now 7 months old and thriving.

Jenn Bauer is a clinical social worker, working in the field of mental health for the past 13 years. After many years of putting her career on the forefront, she decided to make her family a priority. Well into her 30s, she still had not met “Mr. Right” and so decided that If she wanted a family of her own, she’d have to let go of her ‘Plan A’ and take matters into her own hands. At the age of 35, she underwent her first IUI and was surprised with a pregnancy with twins! Her boy/girl twins (Dominick and Lydia) are now 7 months old and thriving. When Jenn decided to take this path she knew raising a child on her own would be challenging - emotionally, physically, financially. But adding a second baby into the mix meant that she had to adjust her plan. This is not an easy feat for an admitted Type A who loves control. Not having a partner to share this responsibility with has definitely been hard, at times. However, she has learned how to use her existing circle, as well as create new circles, to help meet the needs of both herself and her little ones.
