This week on the Daly Dose, we are joined by former college football player Ahmard Vital to discuss some of the impressive work that he is currently doing!
Ahmard is also a former college football recruiting analyst with Scout.com, he is an accomplished author of a few different books, including one that had been labeled the “athlete’s life manual”!
He has formed a media group called That Guy Media Group, and he is a motivational speaker that has helped secure more than $6 million dollars in scholarship money for athletes, and has worked with athletes at the Division I level and even the National Football League.
We discuss his playing career, some of the top players that he would end up scouting, and some of the top players in the upcoming NFL Draft!
We also talk about some of the lessons that his books are teaching, and how he has been able to speak to audiences around the world! If you have a young athlete in your life, you should not miss this episode of the Daly Dose!

Before a conversation with YHH's Tony Scott to break down high school hockey Sections, the Mr. Hockey race, and more, Logan, Matt, & Bill first break down two key matchups this Friday in boys hoops. The guys discuss a huge rematch on Friday night to decide the Northwest Suburban (8:25) along with a top-10 rematch in the South Suburban (17:11). In boys hockey (22:00), they talk about four teams on notable hot streaks, including Maple Grove, Lakeville South, and Cretin-Derham Hall.

Before a conversation with Shakopee Basketball coach Jake Dammann, the guys talk about a couple of Section playoff games coming up in girls hockey in the network. In boys basketball, they discuss a top-10 matchup between Park Center and Osseo (6:12) and some of the title contenders they'd like to see by the end of the year (14:48). In boys hockey, they discuss program building in the State based on a recent Star Tribune piece about Minneapolis (17:15). Plus the games of the week on the ice (21:26).

Before a conversation with the head coach of the No. 2 ranked Minnetonka girls basketball team, Logan & Matt survey some of the best girls hoops programs in the State, including a loaded Section 2AAAA that features four of the top teams in the state. They also check in on some of the key games to watch in boys hockey this week (9:16), including an impressive win streak from Lakeville North. Next, they head back to the hardwood to discuss boys hoops with topics ranging from the Mr. Basketball Watch List (17:00) and Matt's impressions of No. 1 Park Center (20:41), and a top-5 matchup in Shakopee this week.

Before a conversation with Shakopee Wrestling coach Alex Van Krevelen, the guys discuss a cease and desist order prompting Edina to remove the 40-year-old Hornet logo as well as discuss some of the best high school sports logo in the State (0:50). Also discussed is Edina Hockey's two-game losing skid (11:14), Prior Lake's 9-goal outburst (17:45), and Andover as the new No. 1 (22:15). Logan also discusses his thoughts on Shakopee Basketball (26:39) and some of the other top teams in the State he saw in the past week.

Before a conversation with Lakeville North Head Boys Hockey Coach Jake Taylor, the guys reconvene in the New Year to discuss their experiences at various holiday tournaments (2:30), along with the Edina Hornets ringing in the New Year with a win over previous No. 1 Lakeville South (6:18) in boys hockey. Other teams discussed include Roseau and Warroad (10:20) and Maple Grove (12:03), all coming off impressive wins. On the basketball side, they discuss a recent article discussing zone defense damaging development at the youth levels (14:30) and games of note for this week (24:50).

Before welcoming in Prep Hoops MN writer and now Maple Grove JV Basketball Coach Jared Martinson to the pod, "North of the River" Bill Hupp emerges still partially frozen from a foot of snow to help break down a busy week in boys hockey, including a preview of the Lakeville Civil War (4:42). Plus, the guys chat about an intriguing Metro vs Upstate battle among several Top-10 matchups on the ice (14:02). Next, a look at some of the standout results from the Hopkins Tip Off Classic (17:05) in boys hoops.

This week on the Daly Dose, we are flashing back to an early edition of the Daly Dose! It was the summer of 2015 and there weren’t a ton of sports stories coming out, so we decided to break out the Daly Dose mailbag and read some questions from listeners.
