Episode 115 takes a trip to possibly the perfect place in America to visit for the Halloween season: Salem, Massachusetts. This week's Road Trip is filled with witches, spooky cemeteries, possible haunted houses, and so much more. If you enjoy this time of year Salem is for you!
We go way Back In the Day and reminisce about the good and bad about staying home sick from school in the 1980s and 1990s. Sure there was no internet, no cell phones, no streaming, but there was an endless supply of game shows, sappy daytime television, and if all else was lost, a stack of VHS tapes.
The spooky season is continued as we revisit the sad and somber secret smallpox cemetery of Provincetown. In a laugh-out-loud moment, only after I finished recording and editing this episode did I discover I had previously spoken about this topic. Though still a fascinating subject it is in fact the first rerun on the podcast.
The Top 5 sees us wrap up the weird laws of the New England states as we look at the weirdly specific yet totally random laws brought forth by my home state, Massachusetts.
Of course, there will be a brand new This Week In History and Time Capsule focusing on the on-screen debut of comedy legends Laurel and Hardy.

Support the showEpisode 112 begins with a segment I've wanted to do and share for quite a while. Straddling the line between two generations has allowed me to see things the way they were and the way they became. I celebrate this fact as I look at my Cape Cod roots. Reminisce about things that used to be on the Cape, and for folks of my generation look back at how life was in general in the 80s and 90s.
With the recent passing of Bob Barker it is only appropriate to go way Back In the Day and take a look at the Price Is Right game show, specifically the 35 years that Barker hosted. It is highly likely that people who grew up during his time as host will find some fond memories in this segment.
We are up to the 4th New England state in the series of weird laws countdowns. This week's Top 5 is a look at weird Vermont laws. Giraffes, doves, dentures, and more make up one hilariously random segment.
On September 12, 2020 I decided to quit drinking. It was a difficult task but September 12, 2023 marked 3 years of being alcohol-free. I take a deep dive into my story. My journey through the rough times when alcohol ruled my life to the challenges of quitting something so difficult to defeat. If my story helps even one person it will have been worth sharing.
There is also a brand new This Week In History and Time Capsule featuring Pete Rose becoming Major League Baseball's all-time hits leader.

Support the showEver wondered what it would be like to have a Vampiro in your living room, sharing relationship advice? Well, you're in for a treat as we welcome back David "Vampiro" from the nether regions for a lively chat about the Vampiro Diaries. In a fitting tribute to the iconic Bob Barker, we reminisce about his enduring influence, and take a moment to bemoan the state of drive-through orders. Because, really, should it be this hard to get a quick meal without a side of special instructions?
Shifting gears, we discuss the trials and tribulations of snack availability. Broken Slurpee machines and vanishing Abuelitas hot chocolate are a serious blow to convenience store lovers like us, and we're not afraid to say it! As we grapple with our snack frustrations, we open up about considering a boycott, because snacks matter. Meanwhile, Vampiro shares insights from his journey towards becoming a high school teacher. Did you know a coaching gig at a high school could lead to a single subject credential and a stipend? We didn't either!
Finally, we wade knee-deep into tales of fishing and work boots, because why not? As Rick shares his love for fishing and the elusive search for gold, we dive (pun intended) into discussions about the hybrid design of his favorite work boots. Taking a detour through Lake Gregory, we share our hilarious fishing escapades, the importance of having a day pass, and Vampiro’s infamous toilet search. The foot surgery chatter might make you squirm, but hey, we promised an engaging conversation, didn't we? So sit back, relax, and join us on this wild ride - you've earned it!

It's time for your weekly dose of Rabbity goodness.......now get it down you!
On the show this week Sam surprises Adam and Benson by introducing an unexpected feature and by asking them to report on stories they've never read before.
Benson muscles in on Sam's section once again to carry on the 'Quiz Show Sh*t Show' theme and there's talk of world records, what do boob jobs sound like? And just how much does a tin of Pedigree Chum cost!?
As ever, everything is soaked in silliness and the (augmented) train goes off the rails many times before reaching its destination.

The Erins want you to ‘come on down' this week for “Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much.” Superfan Ted Slauson spent scads of time documenting and memorizing prize prices offered on beloved game show The Price Is Right. This was a years long project to help Ted score big when he got called to Contestant Row. While Ted didn't clean up as a contestant, he did help others excel, culminating in an actual ‘perfect bid.' Who says mathin' skills don't pay out?!
(SPOILERS) Today’s Daily Roundup covers how I handle spoilers and what’s expected, our US Open champ was never going to be the Bachelor, no new clarification on Tori & Dean, young celebrity lovebirds break up, & a game show injury.

"Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much," a documentary on Ted Slauson who memorized prices from The Price is Right for years, has just been re-released on Netflix. We were lucky enough to sit down for an interview with Ted "Theodore" Slauson about his time on the show, the documentary and how having it on Netflix shows the documentary to such a wide audience.
For those that don't know, Slauson has been to more than THIRTY tapings of The Price is Right, which isn't even close to the record -- apparently.
For more on his incredible story about "hacking" -- essentially -- being smarter than -- the game show, listen to our episode. Then, head over to Netflix and watch "Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much." It's streaming now!
