    Genesis 31 - 33 :: Jacob - Wrestling With God + Others
    Wrestling.

    This one word seems to sum up almost everything happening in today’s OOBT episode. Wrestling between Jacob and Laban as Jacob leaves to return to Canaan. Literal wrestling between God and Jacob. (Yes… this really happens!!) Jacob wrestling with his identity and is then given a new name by God. The end of the wrestling between two brothers after 20 years.

    Oh, friends, maybe you, too, are in a season of wrestling right now… Maybe you, too, need to hear how God worked all the wrestling and chaos out in someone else’s life. If so, then today’s episode is definitely for you! Annndddd, even if you are not in a season of wrestling right now, as always, there is still plenty to be discovered on the pages of God’s Word for all of us today!

    PLUS, be sure to listen in as we also see the further development of God’s promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Same God. Promises made. Promises kept. Faithful back then. Faithful to us now. Oh OOBTers, don’t miss out on this one for sure!

    Jesus’ Birth - God’s Peace Makes His Promise True To You

    Jesus’ Birth - God’s Peace Makes His Promise True To You
    God sovereignly chose and planned before He laid the foundation of the world, (Ephesians 1:4) every event and life path of each person to fulfill the prophecies timing surrounding Jesus Christ’s birth. (Galatians 4:4) And in love, He planned all the days of your life (Psalm 139:16) and the good works to fulfill them to remove all cause for you to worry. (Ephesians 2:10, 1 Peter 5:7)

    Consider how amazing the love and providence of God to birth His only Son Jesus into the world to be your salvation. (John 3:16-17, Luke 1:31) He is Emmanuel, God with you and God among you, Who became one of us (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23) by the Holy Spirit coming down from heaven above and birthing in Mary’s womb a new creation – Son of God. (Luke 1:35)

    Now, you being born from above by the Holy Spirit are a new creation in Christ Jesus, (John 3:7, 2 Corinthian 5:17) living in union as one with Him (Galatians 2:20) – The Word of God Who came as a baby into the world to be your Deliverer. (John 1:14, Ps 118:21)

    My Promises Never Fail

    My Promises Never Fail

    Today's Promise: Joshua 21:45

    As I read the Bible, I am always amazed how God sneaks a very powerful promise right in the middle of a very fairly mundane passage.

    This chapter ends with a final, sweeping confirmation of how God fulfilled every promise He made to Israel. Not one of God's promises failed.

    God has not changed since the days of Joshua. He is still the promise-keeping God.

    If you are holding onto a promise today, keep holding on. Don't lose heart. God hasn't forgotten you, and He is working right now to bring it to pass.
