Hey girl, hey! Welcome or welcome back to the podcast. I am your host Keanna!
I am so grateful to be back before you on the mic and sharing the goodness of Gods word. It’s been a long while without a consistent upload schedule or an episode period.  But like many should say, “New Year, New Beginnings!” as we are all blessed to ring in each new year.

#PRESSPLAY as we openly discuss my thoughts on change and what that will look like here within the podcast, a deep dive into a morning devotional and scripture passage, and the revelation that is revealed.

<3 Morning Devotional: “I am with you and for you. When you decide on a course action that is in line with my will, nothing in Heaven or on earth can stop you. You may encounter many obstacles as you move toward your goal, but don’t be discouraged — never give up!”

How To Overcome Fear (Business Devo)

How To Overcome Fear (Business Devo)

    Scripture Reference:

    Psalm 46

Psalm 46 is a bold incantation of courage for whenever challenges or fear arise - speak empowering truth into your circumstances.

    Summary

In this business devotional, we explore how to harness Psalm 46 as a powerful incantation to build our faith when facing difficult circumstances.

First, we discuss the importance of speaking truth and biblical facts aloud into our situations - even if we don't feel courageous. Declaring God's promises despite our feelings can reframe our perspective.

Next, we recommend keeping a "Wins Journal" to recall times when God showed up in the past. Remembering His faithfulness builds confidence to weather current storms.

We also cover the need to pause and see the facts clearly whenever challenges arise. Reacting in haste from a place of fear leads to poor decisions. But calmly assessing the reality leads to breakthroughs.

Finally, we examine how trials force us to cultivate perseverance and push past self-imposed limits. With an adjustment in mindset, we can see challenges as opportunities for growth.

Above all, we're encouraged to use Psalm 46 as a bold statement of faith - stirring our hearts with kingdom truths when hardship comes. God is our refuge and strength!

    • Keep a Wins Journal - Note times God has shown up in the past. Remembering His faithfulness builds confidence for current challenges. [7:22]
    • Pause and assess the facts - Don't react in haste and fear. Slow down, see the reality clearly, then make decisions. [17:44]

Psalm 46 - God: our refuge and in charge

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea Psalms 46:1-2

He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; Psalms 46:9-10

This Psalm is often called "Martin Luther’s Psalm." Whenever there was any great trouble, Luther used to say, "Let us sing the 46th Psalm together and then let the devil do his worst." With all that is happening today, it can feel like the world is spinning out of control and that risks are around every corner. Thankfully, God is in charge and He's our refuge! Psalm 46 is timely and lets us know where we can turn!

SNS 074:Fear Not the Chaos and Evil of Others, Psalm 46, Psalm Tuesday

SNS 074:Fear Not the Chaos and Evil of Others, Psalm 46, Psalm Tuesday

Can I just say that, once again, the Psalms have proven themselves to be a haven for creativity and eloquent expression? Used here for the telling of us why we need not fear the chaos and evil caused by others. The actual reason, to not fear, is stated in a fairly straightforward manner, God is our strongly proven help in our times of need. He is our refuge so we need not fear. It is after these simple statements that the creativity explodes across the page. Creativity that truly creates a palpable impression of the chaos and evils being talked about. Now…. Well, before going any further, let’s hear this psalm first, shall we? Then we can chat about it. Also, I have an exciting announcement I’ll share at the end of this episode.

But, for now, my name is Charles, Charles Yerkes and this is Psalm Tuesday here on the Simple Not Shallow Podcast. This is a podcast for those who want a deeper faith and not an aggressively mediocre one. Psalm Tuesday is a series in which, each Tuesday, we will listen to a Psalm being read in a manner that honors their original use as part of a worship service.

So, grab yourself some coffee, and let’s get started.
