Welcome to the episode 16 of "Women In The Music Industry", a podcast that shines a spotlight on the remarkable women who are breaking barriers and making their mark in an industry that has long been dominated by men.

Today's episode features the incredibly talented and humble songwriter to the stars, Kasia Livingston - an American songwriter who began writing songs at the age of 10. She has since gone on to write for many of the world’s top artists, and her music has been nominated for Grammy and Soul Train Awards.

Hear how she was discovered by record producer David Foster, and went on to work with artists including Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, the Pussycat Dolls, New Kids on the Block, Flo Rida, The Wanted, Jessie J, Big Time Rush, Jordin Sparks, Jessica Simpson and Toni Braxton, as a songwriter and a background vocalist... all while being one of the nicest people in the world.

Kasia also joined the Los Angeles College of Music faculty in 2012 as a songwriting instructor.

Who’s smarter, dogs or cats?  Cat owners, prepare to extend your claws.  Studies at Oxford University suggest canines are smarter than felines, because dogs are more interactive.   Cats prefer to be left alone and mollycoddled.  To a dog you are family, to a cat, you are staff☺.  Dogs also have to listen to all our ballyragging commands such as:  Sit! Shake! Roll Over, Quit barking and Get off the couch!  Dogs must be in a constant state of botheration from us!  In addition to understanding the human language, dogs seem to know the difference between right and wrong!  In fact, dogs fit the definition of  a snapsauce perfectly. A snapsauce is “someone who purposefully sneaks the last bite when no one is looking!”  Our angelic looking Boston terrier would always grab  a cookie, wait until my husband walked out the door before jumping on the couch!  

We’re living in strange times y’all! It’s truly all about love in the time of coronavirus. But never before has there been more of an excuse to come together and listen to music to raise our spirits! I hope you enjoy my latest set and it brings you some joy during these trying days.

Today on the 5: I finally got around to watching a movie I'd had on my radar for a while: Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! I went into this movie dreading it would be essentially a glorified skin flick. What I found instead was a really focused and stylistic movie.
