AZEEM RAFIQ – ON THE ECB INVESTIGATION REPORT

AZEEM RAFIQ – ON THE ECB INVESTIGATION REPORT

Former Yorkshire all-rounder and the man who the blew the whistle on institutional racism as part of an independent investigation into discrimination within the ECB.

The findings from said investigation are an emphatic in their condemnation of the culture of cricket in England and Wales, lifting the lid on not just widespread racism, but also sexism, classism and elitism in English and Welsh cricket.

Azeem came to the Extra Time studio to talk to Robbie just hours after those findings were made public.

The Mental Grind to the NFL

The Mental Grind to the NFL

Looking for the tools you need to succeed? This is the episode for you.

Thank you for sharing your story, Sterling Sheffield.

"Sheff" stops by the show to share his incredible mental health toughness and journey to the NFL.

After switching from Private to Public School, he was forced to switch positions because they did not want a black quarterback.

He continued to strive for greatness in college, where he started 4th string on depth chart.

In just 2 months, he became a starter and paved his road to the NFL.

    Other areas of discussion include:

    • Powerful role models
    • How he improves his mental health on a daily basis
    • The power of reading books
    • How being outside improves mental health

More on today's guest: I am an exuberant, competitive leader that amplifies the mindset of a winning attitude towards people around me. I am an open-minded thinker that is willing to dissect plans, and strategies that will improve the performance of myself, others and corporate objectives.

As a former Professional Athlete, I have been able to translate the ability to apply strong communication skills to lead a team towards a common goal - Grow and Win.  I am obsessed with continuous improvement of my craft and competitively driven to succeed which has proven to be contagious within a team environment.

Additionally, I have a plethora of relationships that I have built over time with individuals who also are focused on winning and growing in life, both, personally and professionally.

Alex, Chris, Jesse, Jon, and Josh offer their weekly teaspoon of nonsense. They debate the HOF cases for MLB players who tested positive for PEDs (8:43), specifically Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens, as well as Pete Rose's ban from the HOF because of gambling on his own games. The guys engage in a spirited conversation on the role of sports in the grand scheme of life (25:27), recap the exhilarating Bills-Chiefs game (37:02), and suggest new NFL OT rules (48:12). The crew give their Championship Sunday picks (54:31), offer their Qualin Award nominations (63:42), and finish with a game of Start-Bench-Cut focusing on dynamic NFL receivers (68:21).
