It has been said that if “Satan can’t destroy you, he’ll distract you” and Nehemiah’s opposition starts working overtime as they work to finish the wall.

Nehemiah is called by God to rebuild the walls and gates of Jerusalem and today we see how God uses an “ordinary” cupbearer to do an extraordinary work. Even though Nehemiah 3 seems like an odd chapter to study due to all 31 verses being a historical list of the work Israel did to rebuild the walls, we see that there are a number of lessons we can glean from passages like this.

May is used to raise awareness and educate the public about mental illnesses, the realities of living with these conditions, and strategies for attaining mental health and wellness. It also aims to draw attention to suicide, which can be precipitated by some mental illnesses.
