Arizona Christian Univ. v. Washington School District with Len and Tracy Munsil

Arizona Christian Univ. v. Washington School District with Len and Tracy Munsil

In March, ACU filed a lawsuit against its local school district after the district permanently cut ties with the university's student teachers because of their biblical convictions about marriage. Join us as we discuss the extremely broad ramification of such a clear violation of religious liberty and discrimination toward Christians. Our guests are Len Munsil, president of ACU, and his wife Tracy, the executive director of the Cultural Research Center and professor of political science and government. In the discussion, we ask what worldviews have brought us to this place and why Christians should push back against our increasingly post-Christian culture.

    Hot Topics: Religious Liberty

Do the Scriptures teach anything about religious liberty? Or is it a modern construct? Join us for an interesting dive into a hot topic.

    Theological moorings:
    1) The Noahic Covenant and religious liberty
    2) The imago Dei (“the image of God”) and religious liberty
    3) Christian mission and religious liberty

America's Courts and the Faith Factor Parts 1 & 2

America's Courts and the Faith Factor Parts 1 & 2
For the past couple of decades conservatives have been planning and executing a takeover of our court systems. For some odd reason, Democrats have not paid as much attention to this. Thus we are experiencing a significant sea change in American juris prudence. What does this mean to how religion is expressed in this country? A great deal. The term "religious liberty" has been, in some instances, turned on its head. In these 2 episodes from 2023 we speak with Alan Brownstein, a constitutional lawyer and professor. His insights are valuable. Listen. Vote. Repeat.

    • Internships | While it may seem early, now is the time when many college students begin planning for their Summer 2023 internships. You likely already know this if you have a college student in your life—whether it's in your own household, or your church ministry. At the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, we believe strongly in investing in the next generation. Thanksgiving, Religious Liberty, Identity

    Thanksgiving, Religious Liberty, Identity

Thanksgiving Day is a uniquely American holiday dating back 400 years to the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock. It's a time for remembrance, hopefully family and faith, and gratitude. I am grateful for a country where religious liberty is yet part of our experience. I am thankful, too, for my identity as a child of God, not an ephemeral identity rooted in sex, race, ethnicity, position, talent, class, etc. I am thankful for Christian parents, Dad in heaven and Mom who turns 91 this Thanksgiving day. Talking Religious Liberty with One of Canada’s Leading Christian Lawyers ~ Albertos Polizogopoulos

2022 marks the 40th anniversary of Canada’s bill of rights, or what is formally known as the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Against that backdrop, in this episode we examine the present-day landscape in Canada for freedom of religion – the first fundamental freedom listed in the Charter.

We talk about the implications of COVID restrictions; why recent federal legislation banning conversion therapy may be the greatest threat to religious freedom at this moment; and what the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling on abortion may or may not mean for Canada.

We also discuss a unique type of “trial” for members of today’s legal profession – namely, the ability to practice one’s faith while practicing law.

Joining us is Albertos Polizogopoulos, one of the most prominent legal practitioners in Canada when it comes to cases and questions involving freedom of religion.  On behalf of his broad range of clients – churches, charities, dioceses, schools, universities, hospitals – Albertos has appeared numerous times in front of the Supreme Court of Canada.

Albertos is a partner and founder at his Ottawa-based law firm, The Acacia Group.

Christian Persecution, Chaos, and Freedom: Inside the Dire State of Religious Liberty Across the Globe

Christian Persecution, Chaos, and Freedom: Inside the Dire State of Religious Liberty Across the Globe

The state of religious liberty across the globe is dire — and, in some countries, continuing to diminish. Christian Post reporter Brandon Showalter recently attended the International Religious Freedom Summit, and he reports on what he observed and why it matters.

"As the West becomes increasingly irreligious, religious freedom internationally outside of the West is diminished," he said. "I don't think that ... secularism has the robust sort of zest within it to contend for actual religious freedom because secularism tends to see religion as either unnecessary or something bad for society."
