The kingdom of Christ: was it established on the earth at His 1st coming or will it actually be established at His 2nd coming?

John the Baptist declared the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.  This proclamation was declared before Jesus' earthly ministry on earth (Mathew 3:2).  Was it established or simply offered at this time?

Many dispensational Christians believe it was offered but was rejected by National Israel/religious leaders of the day in Matthew 12:22-48 (assigning Christ’s miracles to the devil) or was it in Matthew 27:16-26…(release of Barabbas instead of Jesus by Pilate) or was it in Acts 7:54 - 60 (Stoning of Stephen).

The 12 were taught to pray by Jesus: “Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. “Thy kingdom come,” Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9-13

So the question remains… is God’s will being accomplished upon the earth today… as it is in heaven? It appears through Old Testament prophecy during the millennial reign of Christ that it will be so one day. We cannot speak that same truth with confidence upon the earth in the reality of what we see upon the earth today.

Can the kingdom of Christ be established upon the earth… without Jesus ruling as king upon the earth…. only true Biblical scholars know the answer to that question?

    A Panorama of Revelation

    A Panorama of Revelation

Today's lesson shows a panorama of the book of Revelation.  Revelation is the only book in the Bible that comes with a promised blessing on those who read and heed it.  Pastor Mark shares the Promise, the Profile and the Purpose of the book.  Jesus is the Victor!!  All of us are invited to share in Jesus' victory (Revelation 22:17)  It's as simple as A-B-C:
A= Acknowledge your sin and your need of a Savior
B=Believe that Jesus is the one and only way to be saved
C=Confess with your lips and your life that Jesus is Lord

    Seven Letters to Seven Churches/Smyma

    Seven Letters to Seven Churches/Smyma

Today Pastor Mark takes us through the letter to Smyma.  Smyma was called "The Jewel of Asia".  The church there was struggling and Jesus commended them for the pressure, poverty and persecution they were enduring.  He counsels them to be fearless and remaining faithful even though they knew they would lose their lives for that faith.  The letter to Smyma could be written to us today.  Listen and be encouraged because Jesus KNOWS what we are going through and will go through in the future as Christians.

Seven Letters to Seven Churches Introduction

Seven Letters to Seven Churches Introduction

Today we begin an eight week series on the book of Revelation.  Specifically this was written "to the seven churches" (Revelation 1:4; 11) but all so generally written to any and all who will read it (Revelation 1:3; 22:17-19).  Blessings are promised to all who read this book and do what it says.  Definitely a very good reason to get your Bible and read along as Pastor Mark shares this series.

You've Got Mail: Letters to the Church - Philadelphia

You've Got Mail: Letters to the Church - Philadelphia
In this sixth letter to the churches, Jesus had no words of confrontation for the Christians in Philadelphia. He commends them for their obedience, allegiance and endurance. This letter is full of hope and encouragement to Christians today if we too, will remain faithful. What doors has God opened before you and will you be faithful to go through them?

You've Got Mail: Letters to the Churches - Pergamum

You've Got Mail: Letters to the Churches - Pergamum
In Jesus' third letter to the churches in Revelation 2:12-17 He addresses the church in Pergamum. In a city where "Satan has his throne....where Satan lives," Jesus commends them for their steadfast allegiance to His Name. Yet, not everything was right with everyone. There were some in the church who had compromised their loyalty with idolatry and immorality. Pastor Mark brings the warnings Jesus gave the Pergamum church to Christians today.

You've Got Mail: Smyrna - Fearless and Faithful

You've Got Mail: Smyrna - Fearless and Faithful
The second letter from Jesus was addressed to the church in Smyrna, called the "Jewel of Asia" by Alexander the Great. Perhaps the key verse is Revelation 2:10 - "Do not be afraid...be faithful." Being a Christian in Smyrna was more perilous than living in any other city in the Roman Empire in the first century. From the pen of the One that best understands what it means to be fearless and faithful we can gain insight and encouragement to face the days ahead as we learn to stand firm under any and all persecution that comes when we choose to walk as Christian.
