Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

    Hour 1

The Chiefs are now in the middle of a dynasty after beating the Niners. Patrick Mahomes stuck a dagger right into the hearts of Niners fans and Kyle SHANAHAN. Gio said he’s lost his identity being out in Las Vegas for so long. We all loved Usher’s halftime show. The Niners defense was flying around which kept it low scoring the first three quarters. Boomer said nobody is playing quarterback like Mahomes right now. He can always find a way. Boomer said if he won the coin toss in overtime, he would have deferred instead of taking the ball like SHANAHAN did. The Chiefs did not score a lot of points in the playoffs but managed to get through everybody. Jerry is here for his first update of the day, but first we’re concerned about this snow storm back at home. We have not been paying attention while here in Vegas. Jerry has the game winning TD as called by Kevin Harlan. Some of the players seemed confused by the playoff overtime rules. Kyle SHANAHAN talked about his decision to take the ball in OT instead of deferring. Mahomes wants a three-peat next year. Ochocinco was going to give up eating McDonalds, get a divorce and give up sex if the Chiefs lost. In the final segment of the hour, Al said he was sitting with riff raff and couldn't believe people paid that much for tickets. Taylor Swift was in a box and was seen talking to Roger GOODELL. Boomer thinks this will be the highest rated Super Bowl ever.

    Hour 2

Gio, Al and Eddie went to the NFL tailgate and Gwen Stefani performed. Gio also detailed our exit out of the stadium where an angel from heaven helped us get from one hotel to a parking lot to get picked up. Stephen Waldron of CBS Sports has a lot of nervous energy in public, and it was on full display when he golfed with us. Stephen also does a cough thing to release nervous energy when things get awkward. Jerry is back for another update and starts with Jim NANTZ’S call of the game winning TD by the Chiefs. Mecole Hardman said he blacked out after making the catch. Travis KELCE sang Viva Las Vegas after the game. Mahomes won the MVP again. Kyle SHANAHAN explained why he took the ball first in overtime. Kevin Harlan does play by play of the streaker running on the field. Tony ROMO made a Hulk Hogan reference and sang Adele into break. The Waste Management in Phoenix was a drunken mess with hecklers fighting with golfers. In the final segment of the hour, Gio was on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown with Randy Moss to discuss Al booking the other Randy Moss.

    Hour 3

Right now there are way too many people involved in our luggage getting to the airport. Boomer tells a story about coming back to the hotel last night, and only one elevator was working. There was a guy screaming about how the Chiefs suck and how Taylor Swift sucks. When Coach COWHER showed up, the guys stopped acting like a jackass. We talked about the NFL Today Hangover skit and Gio said COWHER was not a great actor. Jerry is here for another update and starts with the final TD as heard on Niners radio. Andy Reid talked about Travis KELCE getting in his face on the sideline early in the game. Boomer said that did not look good on the sideline. Chris Jones of the Chiefs talked about being prepared for the new overtime rules. Brock Purdy talked about the Chiefs offense and how you can’t let Mahomes hang around. Phil Simms’ pick before the game was very confusing. Rex Ryan disputed Adam Schefter’s story about the Cowboys hiring Mike Zimmer as defensive coordinator. In the final segment of the hour, the Brock Purdy questions have been answered. He played well enough to cement himself as their quarterback. Purdy has a great contract which favors the Niners. The McCaffrey fumble on the first drive set the tone for the game. But if the Niners won, McCaffrey would have been the MVP with the combined rushing and receiving yardage.

    Hour 4

Gio said today will be a big Mahomes ass kissing day, well deserved of course. Jordan, Kobe, Brady and now Mahomes. Boomer has some Mahomes stats for us. Boomer compares the careers of Mahomes and Jordan. Gio went to a LIV golf tournament. He enjoyed it, but said he couldn’t take it seriously. Jerry is here for his final update of the day but first we talked about how great of a Super Bowl city Vegas was. Jerry starts with the winning TD as heard on Chiefs radio (they were excited). Mahomes is talking about a three-peat for next season. Mecole Hardman explained the play that resulted in the game winning TD. Andy Reid talked about KELCE getting in his face and bumping him on the sideline. KELCE also did some Viva Las Vegas after the game. SHANAHAN talked about the analytics that made him decide to take the ball in OT. Gio was on ESPN on Sunday with Randy Moss to talk about Al booking the wrong Randy Moss for the show. Moment of The Day involves CBS Sports producer Stephen Waldron’s anxiety on the golf course. In the final segment of the show, Jerry provides some final thoughts on the week in Vegas, Super Bowl and Chiefs dynasty as Boomer, Gio, Al and Eddie leave early for the airport.

Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

    Hour 1

Gio had a great day yesterday. First he and Boomer were on the Drew Barrymore show. Then, Boomer, Gio and Jerry played at a really bougie golf club. They were only supposed to be on one segment, but they ended up being on the entire Drew Barrymore Show. The first half of the interview was just questions for Boomer and Gio was just loitering. The topic of Taylor Swift came up during the taping and Gio blamed angry football fans for the Taylor Swift hate. Gio did a good job reading off the teleprompter. The only controversy football wise is the Niners are still angry about their practice facility and the quality of the turf. Boomer said Jerry always wears ‘balloon pants’ while golfing, and did so again yesterday. Boomer said there are a lot of ‘mutants hanging around’ the casino today. Jerry is here for his first update of the day but first we talked about Drew Barrymore just getting over the Norovirus and hopefully Boomer doesn’t get it. Jerry has audio of Patrick MAHOMES talking about being the villain now. Tom Brady is surprised the greatest coach ever doesn’t have a job. Cowboys’ Tony Pollard just found out while on the Pat McAfee Show that Dan Quinn left for the Commanders. Today is the NBA trade deadline at 3pm. In the final segment of the hour, Booger McFarland came to the defense of people criticizing Tony ROMO. Gio said he was around ROMO yesterday and seems very happy and living a great life. Gio said ROMO is ‘meatier’ than he thought he would be. Al thought Tracy Wolfson was ‘tiny’. Al & Eddie ran into Mark Davis at an Asian fusion restaurant. Boomer & Gio ran into the owner of the Chargers.

    Hour 2

Peter Schwartz just showed up in Vegas so he joins us on location. Al put on Peter’s gigantic shirt. He also got to interview Dr Oz, but Oz left when Peter asked him who’s going to win the Super Bowl. We asked Peter if he likes a buffet. Boomer and Gio do not like buffets. Peter likes the Patrick Roy hiring by the Islanders. Peter plays video blackjack because he had a bad experience at a table when he hit on 17. Michael Irvin would not take a selfie with Peter. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Mike FRANCESA saying you should never watch the Super Bowl alone. That’s followed by a clip of Chris Russo saying he likes to watch the game alone. Charles Barkley can’t believe how much people pay for Super Bowl tickets. Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco talked about the Cowboys and the issue of Jerry Jones being in the spotlight. David Sterns was on the Jon Heyman podcast and it doesn’t sound like an extension to Pete Alonso isn’t coming any time soon. Sounds like it won’t happen until after this season when his contract ends. In the final segment of the hour, Nick Saban is joining ESPN, specifically for College Game Day. Gio said these guys just can’t stay away, they have to be around the game. He’s over 70 years old and has made $200 million. The transfer portal is driving college coaches crazy and will drive more coaches like Saban out of the game. Rex Ryan interviewed with the Dallas Cowboys for defensive coordinator. Imagine Rex with Jerry Jones and Mike McCarthy. Boomer had dinner with Phil Simms, Chris Simms, Howie Long and Chris Long. Phil’s lady glasses came up because of the interview with James Brown earlier that day.

    Hour 3

Boomer wonders if Gio’s opinion on how the Super Bowl will go has changed since the time we’ve been here. Gio is rooting for the Niners, but if he bet the game, he would bet on the Chiefs because of Patrick MAHOMES. He has too much Super Bowl experience and has been on a run as the underdog this postseason. Boomer said teams are running all over the Niners so they better figure that out. The Giants gave offensive coordinator Mike Kafka a promotion to assistant head coach. Gio said the Giants offense has been terrible so he doesn’t understand why other teams wanted Mike Kafka. Boomer said he’s a loyal soldier to Brian DABOLL and that’s what he needs right now. Patrick MAHOMES just doesn’t turn the ball over. Boomer did say MAHOMES was a game manager in the second half against Baltimore. Boomer got to interview Brock Purdy for the pregame show and thinks he will have a good Super Bowl. Jerry returns for an update and asks, ‘what’s the best compliment you’ve ever received as a man?’ There’s a pic going around of Drake that shows he’s got a missile down there. Chris Jones was asked if this was going to be his last game with the Chiefs. Calling Brock Purdy a game manager is not fair. Boomer said you could say that about Joe Montana if that’s the case. Tiki Barber said Tom THIBODEAU is stuck in his ways and it could be getting players hurt. Jerry even has some sound from the Rangers game. Stephen A. Smith was asked about which animals he would choose to protect himself against an attack of different animals (it was confusing). A guy climbed on top of the sphere yesterday. In the final segment of the hour, we are going to a Breitling Watch event with Boomer tonight. It’s getting more crowded here as it always does on Thursday of Super Bowl week.

    Hour 4

The NBA trade deadline is today at 3pm, but Gio would be shocked if the Knicks make a deal. The NHL trade deadline is tomorrow and we talked a bit about the Rangers’ needs. Gio tells a story of a guy rewarded $25 million because a newspaper attributed racist quotes to him when it was another person. Dean Spanos, the owner of the Chargers, was at the golf club yesterday. Gio was in a ‘suck up spot’ when he told Dean he sees the Chargers in the Super Bowl within two years. Boomer said Gio seemed very comfortable at this bougie golf club. Gio got shamed into a Super Bowl box situation that cost $1,000. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with Patrick MAHOMES talking about being the villain now because of how much they win. Tony Pollard of the Cowboys didn’t know Dan Quinn left to become the head coach with the Commanders. David Stearns was on the Jon Heyman podcast and talked about Pete Alonso and a potential extension (not looking good for this year). I guess Evan Roberts is going to have to keep that red bushy beard longer. The Rangers beat the Lightning last night. The Moment of The Day involves Al trying on Peter Schwartz’s giant shirt. In the final segment of the show, TV producer Stephen Waldron joins us to talk about taking unfinished wine off of another table in a restaurant after it was evacuated due to a fire alarm. Yesterday both Gio and Jerry were confused at golf as to who to or not to tip. We also talked more about tipping the flight attendant on the ride here.

Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

    Hour 1

Rex Ryan said he wouldn’t be surprised if the Bills fired Sean McDermott and brought in Bill Belichick. This is probably just a hot take by Rex. Boomer would keep McDermott and get some wide receivers for Josh Allen and get back all of the defensive players that got hurt. Allen really likes McDermott, so Boomer said he’s not breaking that up. Sources are saying that Arthur Blank wants Bill Belichick in Atlanta, but the front office doesn’t want him. Boomer wonders why Belichick wouldn’t consider a year off. Maybe the Giants job will be open after next season. Jerry is here for his first update of the day but first Boomer is worried about Jerry because he has a headache. Jerry started with Joel Embiid scoring 70 points last night and Karl Anthony-Towns scoring 62. DeMeco Ryans talked about CJ Stroud’s rookie season. Todd Bowles was asked about not taking a timeout late in the game. Ochocinco does not know how to say ‘cognac’. In the final segment of the hour, Ty Law was on with Dan Patrick and said that before Belichick got to New England, players would drink whiskey out of Mike Vrabel’s flask. ‘There’s some whacky dudes on every team’ according to Boomer.

    Hour 2

Boomer is headed to Baltimore this weekend for a live NFL Today from the AFC Championship game. Boomer said Lamar Jackson is a different guy this year and has enormous confidence. Gio said you have to beat Patrick Mahomes if you are to be taken seriously. The Ravens beat a bunch of winning teams this season. Gio will not go into next football season with any hope for the Giants or Jets. Boomer wonders if the Jets will get a bunch of prime time games again this year. Jerry returns for an update but first Gio said he’s a guest on something tonight with Lil Dicky. Gio said there’s too many famous people these days. Jerry starts with Matt LaFleur saying Tom Rinaldi took a joke about his kicker seriously and now he has to do damage control. We heard the Korean broadcast of the Bills ‘Wide Right part 2’. They sound like Matt Loughlin and Chico Resch on the Devils calls. Joel Embiid scored 70 points last night. In the final segment of the hour, we heard Gio stumble through a call where he found out he was interviewing a boxer and Boomer found a video of Lil Dicky saying he’s a clam or something. We then talked about clams. That’s right, clams.

    Hour 3

People don’t seem to be giving the Lions much of a chance against the Niners, though most of the country will be rooting for them. Jared Goff tends to throw interceptions on the road, which leads to them losing games. Boomer said Brock Purdy has improved as the season went on, but he did not look good in a handful of games including against Baltimore. Gio doesn’t want the Lions to have success because he’s a Vikings fan and they’re in the same division. Evan Roberts doesn’t want the Lions in the Super Bowl because that’s another team that would have gotten over the hump before the Jets. Boomer roots for people, not franchises. He’s rooting for Dan Campbell and Jared Goff. Boomer said Kyle Shanahan is ‘a little swarmy’. Gio thinks he looks like an over the hill skateboard guy and someone who would be friends with Spike. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Dan Campbell screaming about knocking off hot teams. John Harbaugh said he’s not been distracted and won’t be distracted by Taylor Swift. Joel Embiid scored 70 points last night and Karl Anthony-Towns scored 62. In the final segment of the hour, Snoop Dogg said he called Pete Carroll right after he was fired and Pete told him he wanted to coach the Chargers but they didn't want him. Bill Belichick and Kirk Cousins to the Falcons could work. If the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl, could Taylor Swift go from Tokyo to Vegas and then back to Australia for her shows? Boomer said Travis Kelce needs to propose on the postgame show of the Super Bowl if the Chiefs win.

    Hour 4

Rex Ryan said he wouldn’t be surprised if the Bills moved on from Sean McDermott in favor of Bill Belichick. We don’t see that happening. The Bills had a lot of injuries on defense and they do need another wide receiver. Boomer said the Bills have a good thing going and you can’t go to the Super Bowl every season. He needs a number one wide receiver because Stef Diggs isn’t it anymore. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with Joel Embiid scoring 70 points last night and Jerry wonders if it’s more impressive than Wilt’s 100 in his day. Karl Anthony-Towns scored 62 last night as well. Gio heard Marco Balletti on the air and he hasn’t been out to dinner in 25 years and wasn’t aware that lemon could be in a dessert. He also doesn’t like steak. The Penguins scored a goal against themselves. The Moment of The Day involves the Korean broadcast of the Bills missed FG and the Devils radio broadcasters. In the final segment of the show, Boomer and Gio have a ‘chalk talk’ at Tellers on Thursday night with Bill Cowher. They are going to be close to Gio’s house, maybe they all hang out there. Gio said this time of year it’s a petri dish of viruses.
