Episode 533: Aerial Dogfights
In just a week or so, the Deucecast Guys enter into the Danger Zone again, at a preview for Top Gun, so that leads the discussion to TOP FIVE DOGFIGHTS in movie history. Snoop, Snoopy, The Bounty Hunger or Junkyard are not included. A task too big for just d$, Mikey, and #TwitterlessDrEarl, so who do they turn to? Of course, Hurricane Rhett, because this show has been on the rails way, way too long.
First, memories of the original Top Gun... where did everyone see it? How young, and how many zippers were on those parachute pants?
Then, the top five movies with aerial battles, mostly featuring planes, but some with helicopters, even some fists, and a stealth fighter named Firefox.
Mikey has the Zoa on tap... Memphis Belle's true mission... the Time Vortex... Ken Olin gets a namedrop... USA Night Flight... the badness of Pearl Harbor... the goodness of Dunkirk... Mikey's weird voices... ID4 mistakes... AirWolf vs Blue Thunder, featuring Riptide... All the Iron Eagles...

How Singer-Song Writer Elaina Kay Happened To Open For Wynonna Judd
Elaina Kay is the real deal! Ranch raised and certified Western. She is a guitar pickin', rodeo loving, ranch hand. I'm not sure she has busted any broncs, but she is an accomplished singer-song writer. Writing songs in Nashville touring the USA and opening for Wynonna Judd are part of her musical journey.
Elaina Kay tells us about how growing up on a Texas ranch shaped her outlook on life and her music.

CBC #117 (Finn McKenty, marketing strategist and social media coach)
During this "down" time, what can we do to stay present in the minds of our audiences? What new ideas can we come up with to engage with people, so when the time comes we're ready to come out the other end stronger? Finn brings us some great ideas and inspiration to think in new ways.

3.19 - What's love got to do with Canaan?
If you’ve ever wondered why the “conquest” had to happen this is the episode for you. Many, like Rhett and Link, have struggled to reconcile their understanding of the God of the (seemingly violent) conquest of Canaan with the God who embodied love in the person of Jesus. The guys explain - the love embodied in Jesus only makes sense with the land of Canaan in the background.
We Give Thomas Rhett Just A Little Sh!t
3.18 - Violence of the "Conquest"
In a follow-up episode to last week’s conquest discussion, the guys focus in on the issue of war and violence. What should we do with passages that seem to portray God as violent, vengeful, or wrathful? Are there aspects of God’s character (Justice/Holiness vs. Love/Mercy) that are unable to be reconciled?
3.17 - "Conquering" Canaan
In their continued response to Rhett and Link's faith challenges the guys begin a discussion on the biblical conquest of Canaan by Joshua. Archaeological records don't seem to line up with the traditional understanding of a conquest. But is "conquest" an appropriate term for what happened when Israel entered Canaan? Maybe not, according to the biblical witness.
3.16 - It's all in the Numbers
The series continues! The guys offer some more answers to the issues raised in Rhett and Link's "anti"-testimonies. This week's episode deals with the numbers in the Exodus census account. Did Moses bring 2 or 3 million people out of Egypt and into the land of Canaan? Does it matter if the numbers aren't 100% accurate by today's standards?
3.15 - Did the Exodus really happen?
This week the After Class guys continue their interaction with material from Rhett and Link’s “anti”-testimonies. Here they address the question of whether modern archaeology supports and upholds material in the Old Testament. Are our assumptions about the Bible and archaeology potentially leading us to a shaky place? And how do they affect our interpretation and understanding of the Exodus event.
