Today on the 5: Robert Downey Jr recently appeared on Rob Lowe's Literally podcast and made some comments about how he thinks his time as Tony Stark is viewed. While you can certainly debate the quality of many Marvel films, but i'm not sure how you reasonably argue that Iron Man and RDJ's performance aren't pivotal to everything that came after.

Superhelte-filmen fylder nemlig 15 i år, hvorfor det jo er ganske passende at se den efter i sømmene. For er det egentlig den vigtigste superhelte-film de senste 15 år?
Episode 165 - You see where you're going? (Endgame, Part 1)
Als wir im Herbst 2019 mit diesem Podcast angefangen hatten, hatten wir uns bereits darauf gefreut, diese Episode aufzunehmen. Damals war der Film erst wenige Monate alt, und wir wussten, dass wir zu viele andere Filme besprechen mussten, um innerhalb dieses Podcasts Kontext für dieses Mammut-Crossover zu schaffen.
Jetzt ist es endlich so weit. Aber unsere Zeitpläne lassen sich mittlwereile immer, immer schlechter aufeinander abpassen. Darum heute erst einmal nur die erste Hälfte unserer Diskussion des Höhepunkts von Marvels Phase 3. Die zweite Hälfte soll nächste Woche folgen, aber wir wissen mittlerweile, wie töricht es ist, solche Pläne vorbehaltlos anzukündigen. Aber schlecht sieht es zumindest nicht aus.
Heute aber erst einmal viel Spaß mit The Beginning of the End... game.
D’IRON MAN AUX AVENGERS, QUEL EST LE MEILLEUR MARVEL DE LA PHASE 1 ?
Dans ce premier épisode de Pop Classics, nous revenons sur les six films qui ont lancé l'univers cinématographique Marvel (MCU) et captivé les spectateurs du monde entier.

Retake #27 : Good Night and Good Luck
"L'exercice du journalisme au cinéma, c'est ultra intéressant. Ce ne sont que des gens qui bavardent, qui enquêtent mais il y a un potentiel de cinéma fort que ce soit dans les dialogues ou les confrontations. Good Night and Good Luck est l'un de ceux que je préfère."
Avec cet épisode, on ressort ses cours du lycée pour se remémorer une période sombre de l'Amérique, puisqu'il s'agit du Maccarthysme qui régnait pendant la Guerre Froide. Good Night and Good Luck revient sur la confrontation entre les rédacteurs-journalistes de l'émission See It Now porté par son présentateur vedette Edward R. Murrow et le sénateur Joseph McCarthy et sur la manière dont cela va changer le cours de l'Histoire américaine.
L'occasion pour Kev de revenir sur la carrière de George Clooney en tant que réalisateur, pas si anodine, et de comprendre en quoi il a risqué gros sur ce projet qui lui tenait particulièrement à coeur au point d'être seulement payé un dollar symbolique pour écrire, produire et réaliser Good Night and Good Luck. Ce pari lui permettra d'avoir une liberté artistique totale sur ce projet, magnifié par un casting cinq étoiles avec un David Strathairn impérial en Edward R. Munrow.
Good Night and Good Luck est sans l'ombre d'un doute le meilleur film réalisé par George Clooney, dans un noir et blanc élégant, et sans doute son plus personnel tant il a su apporter un regard précis sur la pratique du journalisme dans la droite lignée de classiques comme Les Hommes du Président ou Spotlight.
17 ans après, le film est toujours d'actualité et rien que pour ça, il mérite d'être (re)découvert.
