Black Gay Trans Lives Still Matter - Lee Walter

Black Gay Trans Lives Still Matter - Lee Walter

Lee Walter is a familiar face in both the Dallas LGBTQ and theatre communities as one of the top actors, vocalist and artists in both scenes. Since 2004, she’s performed drag under the name Jada Pinkett Fox at clubs around North Texas, including the world renown Rose Room, the Statler Hilton, Rainbow Lounge, and both Alexandre's and Woody's. Lee was named Best Local Dramatic  Actor/Actress of the Year in 2019 by the Dallas Voice, most recently appearing as Audra in Little Shop of Horrors.

    Nightmare Alley

    Nightmare Alley

In this week’s episode of the AIPT Movies podcast, Alex, Tim, and Matt discuss Guillermo del Toro’s neo-noir psychological thriller, Nightmare Alley! Does del Toro continue his tradition of sudden, unexpected face trauma? Are there biological specimens preserved in amber jars? Also, Tim finds a tape from the “making of” featurette for the gang’s first movie, People Who Eat People. Does the tape help to explain their bizarre, seemingly dead-end careers? Listen now to find out!

The AIPT Movies podcast brings you the latest in movie news, reviews, and more! Hosted by supposed “industry vets,” Alex Harris, Tim Gardiner, and Matt Paul, the show gives you a peek behind the scenes from three filmmakers with oddly nonexistent filmographies. You can find Alex on Instagram and Twitter @alexharriscomix. Matt is a terrific artist that you can find on Instagram @no_wheres_ville. Tim can’t be found on social media because he doesn’t exist. If you have any questions or suggestions for the AIPT Movies crew, they can be reached at aiptmoviespod@gmail.com

You can find AIPT Movies on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. As always, if you enjoy the podcast, be sure to leave us a positive rating, subscribe to the show, and tell your friends!

Amelia Kinkade Interview (Night of the Demons)

Amelia Kinkade Interview (Night of the Demons)

On this episode we had the pleasure of speaking with Amelia Kinkade, adored by horror fans for her re-occurring role as Angela in Night of the Demons 1, 2 and 3. Aside from her acting career, Amelia is also an accomplished author, animal rights activist,  animal communicator, safari tour guide, artist and dancer. As most of our interviews do, we spanned far beyond the scope of just horror in this fascinating and captivating discussion.

Episode 75 - The Rocky Horror Picture Show!

Episode 75 - The Rocky Horror Picture Show!

There's never a bad time to don fishnet stockings and dance the Time Warp, but if you're looking for an excuse, Halloween is it! This week, Christine and JJ breakdown the visuals of the greatest cult movie of all time: the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Sequinned heels, outrageous makeup,  hunky musclemen, and more corsets than you can shake a feather boa at; the Rocky Horror Picture Show implores us to give ourselves over to absolute pleasure. With a strong penchant for campy, raunchy fun, Talk Description to Me happily indulges!

This episode was inspired by a wonderful virtual event hosted by Amy Amantea of VocalEye that featured JJ's descriptions of Rocky Horror visuals. To learn more about VocalEye, or to check out their calendar of fun and innovative events, please visit: VocalEye.ca

G’day all! It’s a brand new Australia edition of Go Fact Yourself!

Kate Mulvany is best known these days for her role on Amazon Prime’s “Hunters” where she plays a Nazi-hunting nun. But one of her most acclaimed roles was Shakespeare's Richard III. She’ll tell us about why the role was so deeply personal for her and explain why she still gets starstruck after all these years.

Kate’s opponent is Josh Szeps. He’s the host of the podcast “Uncomfortable Conversations with Josh Szeps.” He wants his show to be a place that leans into discussions of heady topics like “What’s wrong with men?” and “Am I racist?” but with a sense of honesty and understanding. We’ll hear about some of the hilarious interactions he’s had with guests and the record-setting appearance he had on another game show as a kid.

Our guests will also answer trivia questions about childhood fandom turning into lifelong passion.

Out of the park and onto the stage, it’s a new Go Fact Yourself!

Wink Martindale is a radio and TV legend. He got his start as a disc jockey in Memphis, Tennessee and eventually became a fixture as a game show host. He’s been the moderator of tons of shows like “Tic-Tac-Dough” and “High Rollers.” He’ll tell us some great stories from his career before settling into a game show role he’s less familiar with: being a contestant. You can find more Wink on his YouTube channel and in his book Winking at Life.

Opposite Wink is actor Arden Myrin. She’s practically done it all when it comes to her roles on TV; everything from a guest appearance “Friends” to starring on the Netflix series “Insatiable.” Recently she was featured in the Los Angeles Times not for her career accomplishments, but for her ability to decorate her home on a budget. Arden is the host of “The Bachelor” fan podcast “Will You Accept This Rose?” and is the author of the new book Little Miss Little Compton.

Our contestants will  answer trivia about killer plants, bespectacled athletes and the law of desserts.

Episode 43: Musicals (feat. Nick Gonzo)

Over the years, we've covered musicals in bits and pieces. But we heard you: you wanted more. In this month's episode we brought on special guest Nick Gonzo to adjudicate and decide which of us has the best taste in musicals.

Come and listen to us talk about how terrible it would be to be in a musical, being a third-wheel on your own podcast and why this podcast is not as horny as you might think.

We Can't Have Shit to Ourselves

In this week's current events, I discuss Bow Wow, Mr. Shad Moss, calling himself dissing Ciara for being happy. These Ni**as and their gall. Amber Riley and MJ Rodriguez will be starring in a reimagined version of "Little Shop of Horror" and the Pasadena Playhouse.  For my fellow nerds, I discuss how it was announced at San Diego Comic Con, that Mahershala Ali will be the star in the upcoming Blade Reboot. For my segment "Topic of Discussion", I discuss the white woman who claimed to have invented the hair bonnet and how white people steal ideas from black people and claim they are "new" and something they came up with on their own. #culturalappropriation
