    PACK LIFE

You might be one connection away from thriving in the identity God has for you. Over the years as a pastor, Mark learned a lot about relationships and the benefit of strategic connections with others. Today he helps Christian men overcome anxiety, stress and toxic culture to dive into the identity of the man God created them to be…together…in a “pack”.

    WHY GOD STORIES?

Why is it important to tell God stories? There are so many reasons but Jesus explained it best when He was asked about using so many parables. He said, “I tell stories, to create readiness, to nudge people toward receptive insight.” (That’s taken from Matthew 13 Message version). I’ve experienced God’s amazing work in my life through Jesus Christ and I’m passionate about others experiencing this joy and peace as well! ~Mark

A Widow's Journey Part 2 with Melanie Forbes Cook

Welcome back to part 2 of Melanie Forbes Cook's interview. Last week Melanie shared about losing her husband to a heart attack 14 months ago after almost 25 years of marriage and ministry and the painful events that led up to his death and how she handled it. If you missed it, I hope you'll go back and listen. This week she dives into all that's happened since his passing and how journaling has led her to soon publish four books to help others deal with grief. She also shares in this episode five tips for those who've lost a loved one and five tips for their support team. These are real and practical ways to get through the crushing weight of grief and also also how to really help others who are in the midst of grief. I know you'll be so glad you listened.

A Legacy of Joy and Hope After Loss Part 2

A Legacy of Joy and Hope After Loss Part 2

This week we're welcoming back Ann Curry and Leigh Owens who shared their story in last week's episode of Leigh losing her mom and youngest sister in a car accident and Ann losing her first husband when she was in her mid-twenties. They came together as a family when Jimmy, Leigh's dad, married Ann and brought her into the Curry clan. I hope you'll go back and listen to last week's episode if you haven't already. We're backing up a couple of minutes into last week's show as a reminder of how the kids felt about welcoming baby brother, Luke, into their family and the powerful revelation that he shared with them later in life.

They also talk about losing Jimmy to Alzheimer's and how they dealt with their grief in that season and how the lessons Jimmy taught them in earlier years brought them full circle. Here's the rest of our conversation.

Finding Freedom In A Life Of Imprisonment

Finding Freedom In A Life Of Imprisonment

In today’s episode, Jodi interviews her dear friend, Sharon. Sharon shares that she prayed for God to do whatever it takes to bring her boys back to Himself, never dreaming what God would use to answer her prayer. Her two children made a decision that would land them in prison with a sentence of 20 years without parole. However, God has brought good out of this tragedy, and Sharon clings to Jeremiah 29:11 for hope and strength. This real story of finding freedom in a life of imprisonment is one full of God’s trustworthiness, sovereignty, and redemptive power.

If you need someone to pray with you or have something on your heart after listening to Sharon’s story, please go to www.JodiAiken.com and click on my contact tab. Or click here. Fill out the form, and I will personally respond to you.

If this has inspired you, please share this episode so others may be encouraged to know God is faithful and trustworthy. God works for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). No circumstances are exempt from that promise.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not harm you.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28, NIV)

Carol Kent’s BookWhen I Lay My Isaac Down.”

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. (2 Corinthians 1:3-5, NIV)
