Tables are one of the most important places of human connection. We often feel most fully alive when sharing a meal around a table. Therefore, we shouldn’t be surprised, to find that throughout the Bible, God has a way of showing up at tables. At the centre of the spiritual lives of God’s people in both the Old and New Testaments, we find a table: the table of Passover and the table of Communion – the Lords Supper. This table of fellowship is what Jesus invites us to with Himself and then, in turn, we invite others to fellowship with us at the table.
