Episode 111: Lana Turner and Johnny Stompanato

Episode 111: Lana Turner and Johnny Stompanato

In April of 1958, police were called to the home of actress Lana Turner.  Her boyfriend, Johnny Stompanato, had been fatally stabbed.  Lana’s 14 year old daughter, Cheryl Crane, confessed to the killing, and claimed she was protecting her mother.  A court decided that Stomponato’s death was justifiable homicide.  However, not everyone accepted the ruling as truth.  In this episode we will discuss Turner’s rise to fame in the late 1930’s and 40’s, her turbulent personal life, and her complicated relationship with her daughter.
