    Is Doing Your Best Enough? How To Find Satisfaction Instead Of Being A Perfectionist | FNBB 89 | MERRY CHRISTMAS From The McShanes!

    Are you feeling pressure to make this Christmas PERFECT for everyone else? Do you struggle with perfectionism on the whole?  Striving for perfection can be a terrible thing. It can make you highly critical of yourself and everyone around you. It forces you to have unrealistic standards, causes you to focus only on results and feeling depressed when those results don’t materialize. 

    What is wrong with just doing your best and finding satisfaction in all of the things? Satisfaction leads to happiness. It gives you a sense of achievement. It makes you feel that life is good. Being satisfied is being content. And when you’ve done your best it simply means that all things considered, there are sufficient benefits and that you are driving continued improvement. 

    My thought is that you need to enjoy life. Enjoy the ride. Enjoy the little things. Enjoy the wins. And don’t let some fake sense of perfection steal it all away from you.

    As we age we become much more aware of regrets of our past and fear regrets that we may have in the future. While we can't fix the regrets of our past, except with the understanding that we were making the best decisions we could in the moment with the information we had, we can definitely focus on the things we may have regrets about later in life.

    In order to combat these regrets, I've got three things you can start to do NOW to ease those regrets of the future. Start today and be aware of these things. Be present, Be curious, and take care of your health.
