The audience of 1 Peter is a group of believers scattered around the Roman Empire trying to follow Jesus as people who no longer belong to the cultures around them. They have much to fear, and yet, they are a people of hope.

Today's message assures us that in this sinful world we believers will experience various trials. But they are only temporary and nothing compared to the joys of eternal salvation!
