    Sermon Notes:

We must pour ourselves into encouraging disciples to view suffering for Christ as normal so they will stand strong against the enemy.

    I. Disciple-makers make sacrifices for the sake of strengthening disciples. (3:1)

We make sacrifices for what we value.

II. Disciple-makers encourage disciples to remain faithful in the face of persecution. (3:2-4)

Being caught off guard is a shortcut to defeat, but realistic expectations can help you stand firm and battle to the end.

    Acts 14:21-22, John 16:33

III. Disciple-makers engage in spiritual battle for the benefit of disciples. (3:5)

    Matthew 13:20-21

Thessalonians, Pt 6: The Promise of Persecution

Thessalonians, Pt 6: The Promise of Persecution
Pastor Marc Sharp continues our study on the letters the apostle Paul wrote to the Thessalonians with what is, perhaps, an uncomfortable subject - tribulation and persecution. This is a central truth: If you are truly following Christ, you will not dodge the bullet of tribulation and persecution. Though the line between the two is often hard to discern, all will experience a little of both as we follow Jesus. What is the difference between them?
