We need to recognize that we all have problems and burdens and can't handle them in our own strength. Christ calls us to rest in Him and give Him our problems and burdens.

First Jesus invites us to himself, then he extends the promise of rest. We may not even realize we need it, but the only true soul-rest is found in him.

Jesus extends an invitation to any of us willing to admit we are weary and burdened. The invitation is not to rules or religion, but to his very self.

In this sermon Pastor Keith highlights how Jesus invites us to find rest for our souls by coming to Him. Jesus offers to teach us how to live according to His rhythms of grace. Jesus praised the Father for revealing Himself to the childlike and He claimed the divine authority to reveal the Father to anyone He chooses. 25 At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; 26 yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. 27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-29 ESV
