#004 - Becoming the vehicle of genius

#004 - Becoming the vehicle of genius

A fun episode today as I give a little peak behind the curtain of my podcasting experience and the difficulties I face with the limited money and equipment I have. Also the difficulty and courage it takes to have an opinion but also posting it online where it will be crystallised forever for people to pick apart and what that means! The topic of tapping into the universe mid sentence also comes up and I discuss how sometimes it isn't really that important to know the end of the sentence when you start it.  I touch on my creative writing history and how it has helped me as a creator later on in life and the insight it has given me to my earlier years. I even delve into my brief history as an adult entertainer.

JJJJJerome Ellis is an interdisciplinary artist who has an incredible capacity to create as a musician, writer, and actor. Yet the best way to describe JJJJJerome is as an enigma. Not because he is so mysterious but because his brilliance is so difficult to truly understand. He and I talk through what inspires him to make art that acts as a healing balm and how he wears his stutter like a crown on a tilt. Amir discusses his brief and bitter crisis involving an Emmy nomination for his screenwriting work on Hulu’s Ramy show. Luke Hodson ( Awesome Merch ) : Online Marketing, Crowdfunding & Expansion!

On episode nine of 'Promote The Hell Out Of It' I chat to Luke Hodson, founder & creator of Awesome Merch, a company I have used frequently and admire massively. In 2017 they grew to £5.5 million in revenue and produced their 65 millionth product, they've recently expanded to the states; helped by a crowdfunding campaign which they absolutely smashed, they hire and collaborate with some of my favourite artists and they hold values which I also hold dear. Basically, this conversation with Luke inspired the hell out of me and I hope it does the same for you.

We also gave a cheeky shout out to my all favourite Signature Brew, so you should probably check them out here: https://www.signaturebrew.co.uk

I talk to interesting people about concepts I think are important for our own development or that of society as a whole, you can expect musicians, artists, writers, activists, small business owners and everyone in between. We talk about people, concepts, businesses and things worth promoting, as well as about how to promote them.
