When You Understand Yourself Life is Less Complicated: Priyanka Venugopal
In this episode, we are excited to dive into the inspiring journey of Priyanka Venugopal, a coffee-loving mama bear with a profound love of learning. From a young age, Priyanka's enthusiasm for education was evident as she eagerly raised her hand in class, always ready to erase the blackboards, and strove to achieve top grades and earn Gold Stars.   Despite not being overweight during her childhood, Priyanka struggled with a constant sense of discomfort within herself. As she aimed to be better, well-liked, and the epitome of a "perfect kid," she grappled with her self-image and personal identity.   Join us as Priyanka opens up about her high school years, where her weight became a growing concern. She candidly shares how she experimented with various fad diets and tried to maintain discipline, causing fluctuations on the scale. Little did she know that life had more significant challenges in store for her after medical school and residency.   Things took an unexpected turn when Priyanka embraced motherhood and had her first child. This period marked her heaviest weight, and her previous strategies to manage it no longer proved effective. She refers to this phase of her life as the "good-on-paper-heavy-in-my-mind" time, where she felt lost in the struggle to balance her new roles as a mom and a high-achieving professional.   However, amidst these challenges, Priyanka stumbled upon Coaching, which became a true turning point. Through self-discovery and a growth mindset, she managed to shed over 60 lbs without resorting to obsessing over points or calories. Her journey of transformation was powerful and inspiring.   Today, Priyanka is on a mission to help and guide other high-achieving working moms who find themselves in similar situations. Her creation, "The Unstoppable Mom Brain," serves as a beacon of hope and empowerment for these moms, letting them know that positive change doesn't have to wait until the end. In this episode, she shares valuable insights and practical tips that will resonate with every listener, reminding us that it's never too late to create a life filled with fulfillment, joy, and well-being.   Tune in to this episode of Fearless Freedom with Dr. G to discover Priyanka Venugopal's incredible journey, and be inspired to embark on your path of self-discovery and transformation. Should a mother invest in herself?

Should a mother invest in herself?

It is a very simple question; however, do we know the answer to it?

What is meant to invest yourself, mum? For each of us, it would be something completely different.

For some mums, it would be an investment in their beauty regime, health, personal development, style, or business. There are many options, however, when we are becoming a mum, we become that word “mother”, who is looking after everyone around us except herself. We forget that self-care is so important to be a happy and fulfilled mum.

I was lucky enough that at a young age, I understood how important an investment in “ME” is on the personal development and business level, however, I forgot about self-care.

    Here are the highlights:

{01:18} After a baby is born “Mother” become a word that…

{02:28} You never hear “Well, how are you”?

{03:26} When there were very dark moments in my life, I knew what to do.

{04:20} I understood the importance of investment in my own mind and mental stage.

{05:14} If you didn’t invest in yourself before you had children, then after is even more difficult to be aware of how important it is.

{06:36} Sometimes I still think that we live in a different century.

    {08:42} Self-care is not selfish.
