Continue to Forgive - The Gospels

Continue to Forgive - The Gospels

Join Julia Jeffress Sadler as she takes us on an incredible adventure in Episode 170. Jesus told Peter to forgive others not just seven times, but seventy times seven, illustrating this with a story about a king and his servants. A servant who owed the king a huge amount was forgiven his debt when he begged for mercy. However, this servant then refused to forgive a small debt owed to him by another servant, which angered the king when he found out, leading him to punish the unforgiving servant. Jesus explained this shows how important it is to forgive others, just as God forgives us.

S1E19 How to forgive others and yourself

S1E19 How to forgive others and yourself

Is it easier for some people to forgive than others? In theory we all understand the commandment that we are to forgive everyone, whether or not we experience our idea of justice or even an apology. Most of us understand this idea on an experimental level, but sooner or later on a practical level some of us may start scrambling for the loop-hole, confident that the commandment surely didn’t really mean everyone.

What if it is just too hard? What if we just don’t know how to forgive?

I discuss what forgiveness is, and what it is NOT. For instance, it is giving up those negative emotions of anger, resentment, hate, revenge, bitterness, and grudges. But forgiveness is not condoning or excusing the action that caused harm, nor is it necessarily tied to reconciliation.

There are four reasons why forgiveness is so difficult for most people, but that there is hope for anyone and everyone.

In this episode I discuss the REACH step by step process of how to forgive others, and that includes  yourself, often the hardest person to forgive.

While I mostly speak about concepts and topics that are within the context of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, forgiveness is for all Christians and religions, allowing individuals to experience peace and relief from a misguided commitment to anger and resentment.

    Forgive From Your Heart

    Forgive From Your Heart
Forgiveness is one of the most difficult Christ-like qualities for us as human beings to master. Yet, it is one that Jesus tells us we must master if we are to receive forgiveness from our Father in heaven. Pastor Steven speaks on the story of forgiveness given by Jesus in response to Peter's question, "How many times should we forgive?" A timely message for us today...
