Continue to Forgive - The Gospels

Continue to Forgive - The Gospels

Join Julia Jeffress Sadler as she takes us on an incredible adventure in Episode 170. Jesus told Peter to forgive others not just seven times, but seventy times seven, illustrating this with a story about a king and his servants. A servant who owed the king a huge amount was forgiven his debt when he begged for mercy. However, this servant then refused to forgive a small debt owed to him by another servant, which angered the king when he found out, leading him to punish the unforgiving servant. Jesus explained this shows how important it is to forgive others, just as God forgives us.

The Spell of Cultural Language: Navigating the Confusion of Our Sexually Dark Age

The Spell of Cultural Language: Navigating the Confusion of Our Sexually Dark Age

Language wields more power than we often consider, particularly when it comes to sexuality.

As we've noticed, the words we use to discuss topics like abortion - 'pro-life' and 'pro-choice' - carry substantial weight and can reveal underlying worldviews.

We've also seen a fascinating evolution in how society talks about gender transitioning, shifting from 'sex change operation' to 'gender reassignment surgery', and now, 'gender confirmation surgery'.

So, we're going to delve into these linguistic nuances and explore how changing terms reflect changing societal attitudes.

But it's not just about linguistics.

The conversation takes a deeper turn as we consider the very foundation of our understanding of gender and sexuality. In a world that has seemingly redefined these terms without concrete scientific proof, it's important to approach this discussion with compassion and grace.

For those who are caught up in this societal shift, and for those who have undergone extreme body alterations, we extend our deepest empathy. Remember, it is only through God's words that we find the truth.

Tune in as we navigate these complex waters, seeking truth and understanding in every conversation.

The Floodgates of Heaven - Dan Shutt

The Floodgates of Heaven - Dan Shutt

The broadcast this week at three very important truths from the Word of God. They basically comprise the gospel message. These are God’s wrath, God’s justice, and God’s grace. The Bible alludes to these topics time and time again.Yet, many today downplay God’s holiness and displeasure with sin. The cross of Calvary is hardly ever thought of in terms of God’s eternal justice being satisfied on our account. And sadly, not many understand or even know about the wonderful grace of God displayed towards sinners. We hope that these truths will be made clearer to you through this message. There is salvation for YOU, but you must agree to your need to escape the wrath of God and look to Calvary where divine justice was forever satisfied, and believing sinners saved by the grace of God.

    Sins Forgiven - Larry Perkins

    Sins Forgiven - Larry Perkins

There is no greater truth than to know that your sins are forgiven! King David could write in Psalm 32:1-2 – “Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered; blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputes not iniquity”. Can you think of anything better? We can only have a right relationship with God if, first, we recognize that the Almighty God see us in our sins and separated from Him. He is the When it comes to our soul’s salvation, we need to be honest with God and acknowledge it. Only then will we appreciate the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ in dying for us.

The Do's and Don'ts of Apologizing

The Do's and Don'ts of Apologizing

As flawed, broken people, "I'm sorry" are two of the most important words we will ever hear and speak. Without the possibility of restoring relationships, our lives would be hopeless and tragic. Yet even given the benefits of it, we often resist apologizing. We rationalize our bad behavior, minimize its impacts and convince ourselves that the other person prompted your wrong doing.

In this episode, we discuss why apologies are so important - and so difficult, especially for those of us who struggle to reconcile our imperfections. And for those of us needing help with this skill, we'll offer our best advice for what to do and not to do in mastering the art of apologizing.

Outside the Door - Frank Sona

Outside the Door - Frank Sona

There are two brothers in the story of the prodigal son in the Bible. There is the disobedient and unappreciative son who prematurely takes his inheritance and leaves his father's home for a life of sin and excess in the big city. We have his father accepting him with love and forgiveness upon his return. But for his brother who considered himself okay, there was no forgiveness. No rejoicing over a sinning son that returned to his father. He remained outside the door of salvation

We All Have Questions: What's the Difference Between God's Forgiveness and Our Forgiveness?

We All Have Questions: What's the Difference Between God's Forgiveness and Our Forgiveness?
Continuing a sermon series on questions about the Christian faith, this sermon looks at forgiveness: God's, and ours. Might forgiveness help our nation heal from the stark divisions revealed by the recent political campaigns and the presidential election? The sermon explores what forgiveness is, and what it isn't. It isn't saying everything is OK; it isn't approval; it doesn't require that anyone put up with hurtful behavior. It is freedom to move into a different future. Like love, it cannot be quantified.
