    More about Bethany

Bethany Shipley fell in love with network marketing with a Young Living 3 days after she had her first baby in August 2014.

She found herself totally in love with being a mother while also craving a big vision and mission for her life outside of her new role.

The idea of "having it all" manifested in network marketing and the rest of the story is just the beginning!

As a 26 year old entrepreneur, inspirational speaker, wife, and mom of 3, Bethany craves to infuse a new perspective that everyone has a unique and special purpose. She believes that finding a way to get paid for uncovering that purpose is the best way to have a fulfilling life.

Michael Brewer of Brewer & Shipley

Michael Brewer of Brewer & Shipley

Recognized as one of the most successful folk rock duos of the 70's, Brewer & Shipley have remained true to their original form throughout five decades.

Constantly touring Brewer & Shipley could be found performing in such notable venues as; Carnegie Hall, The Bottom Line, The Troubadour, The Roxy, Keil Opera House, and Arrowhead Stadium.  Because of their broad appeal, they became a favored support act for major tours, sharing the stage with a diverse list of artists, including:  Elton John, The Eagles, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Bonnie Raitt, Electric Light Orchestra, Jethro Tull, Humble Pie, Ted Nugent and Black Sabbath among others.

In 1979 after more than a decade of writing, traveling, and performing, Brewer and Shipley parted company to pursue personal interests.  Michael Brewer continued to make music, recording a solo album for Full Moon Records entitled "Beauty Lies".  This release featured guest artists such as Linda Ronstadt and J.D. Souther, and was produced by longtime friend Dan Fogelberg.  Tom Shipley began working as a television producer/director, eventually forming his own production company (Tarkio Communications).  He later founded the Oral History of The Ozarks Project, a not-profit organization producing documentaries about life in the Missouri Ozarks.

In 1986, at the request of  a Kansas City classic rock station the duo reunited for a concert to celebrate the stations first birthday.  Unsure of what to expect having been out of the public eye for so long, the duo was overwhelmed as they walked on stage to over 10,000 cheering fans welcoming their return.  Having come full circle from their days as staff songwriters living in Los Angeles, Brewer & Shipley began writing together again.  Their first project?  The soundtrack for one of Shipley's documentaries...the award winning, "Treehouse - An Ozark Story".

In recent years, the duo has witnessed rejuvenated interest in their music, beginning with BMG's purchase of their catalog and subsequent re-issue of the critically acclaimed "Tarkio" release.  This was soon followed by the inclusion of "One Toke Over The Line" on the "Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas Limited Edition 25th Anniversary CD" (Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Rcds).   The same song was later featured on the "Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas" motion picture soundtrack (Geffen Rcds.).  In addition, the duo contribute guest vocals to their trademark song on "Hempilation II" (Capricorn Rcds.).

Brewer & Shipley continue to tour and record regularly, having released 2 albums since reuniting - "Shanghai" and "Heartland.”  Regarding Brewer & Shipley, Ron Sylvester (The Branson Note) wrote,  "An actual group from the 70's still capable of making vital music...For a duo best remembered as 70's folkies, this is a solid blast into the present...undeniable proof these guys can still make evocative music".

Natalie Huber-Rodriguez emailed: "Hello! I just wanted to reach out and say how much I love your Podcast. I'm a folklorist and ethnomusicologist who specializes in Irish and Celtic folk music. After returning from living in Ireland a little while ago, I've found myself really missing the trad performances of Irish pub culture and thus, it's really been wonderful to have your Podcast to listen to as a reminder of my home away from home.

Part of my career has been seeking out some of the best traditional Irish and Celtic music performers in the DC metropolitan and greater mid-Atlantic, where I currently live and work, and your Podcast has been great in discovering new and exciting artists from all over. I'm currently working working on a compilation of some of the best and most popular Irish Rebel and IRA songs as part of the upcoming anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising and the significance that such songs still hold for the people of Ireland and their descendants abroad today. Should you ever need any assistance with anything on your Podcast or would like some additional resources, I'd be more than happy to oblige! Keep up the great work! :) Slainte!"

Ali Sherief emailed a photo: "Hi Marc my name is Ali I’m a freshman I enjoy your podcast. I’m also a member of the cat lovers podcast and a fan of your Irish drinking songs for cat lovers album and I love listening to Celtic music. It helps me through the near death fight between me and cars while riding the bike and good day from California!"

Kilted Kings are at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival in Hammond, Louisiana.

It is November. And that's when musicians start sending Christmas music to radio, and of course, to us hungry podcasters. I also publish the Celtic Christmas Podcast. Normally I publish 3 or 4 episodes per year. This year is different. I am planning to release only one episode of that podcast. Plus, I'll have the normal Irish & Celtic Music Podcast Christmas episode, closer to the holiday.

I am about to set the next Milestone Challenge on Patreon. The Milestone Challenge is when we hit a certain level of Patreon pledges. That's when I give you a two-hour episode.

I decided the next Milestone Challenge will involve the Celtic Christmas Podcast. Not only will you get another two-hour special, if we hit this goal before Christmas, then I will publish a bonus hour-long Christmas episode exclusively on the Celtic Christmas Podcast.

So again, you'll get TWO extra-long podcasts, and you will help the show. You can join the Patrons of the Podcast at patreon.com/celticpodcast

Mario Montoya emailed a photo: "I'm not Celtic or Irish in any way. I play the Trumpet and I wish I could figure out how to play Celtic/Irish Trumpet (does any music exist?) Anyway, I discovered the podcast last week and I listen to it while I align optics and it really gets me focused and motivated. Thank you!! When I get the dough (currently in a slump) I'll gladly send some your way. Thank you!!

I have yet to hear all the episodes, but has there been one dedicated to how Irish and Celtic music has influenced music around the world? For example some of the Mariachi Music I used to play has a sort of Irish Jig underlining rhythm... just curious"

First Mario, I would LOVE to hear some Celtic trumpet playing. If anyone knows some out there, please let me know.

I published a CD called How America Saved Irish Music. Listen to show #169. That's where I propose the opposite idea, the American influence on Irish music, but my partner on that album, Jamie Haeuser, has a hypothesis that New Orleans jazz jam sessions were influenced by the Irish sessions from immigrants to New Orleans in the 1800s. She hasn't done any more research on that, but it's an interesting idea. As is the influence of Celtic music on music around the world. It would be fascinating project to research. I know you can find Celtic music in every part of the globe thanks to the Irish diaspora. If you find anything, or if anyone listening knows of something on that line, I'd love to hear from you.
