Will this ever end? Perhaps not soon. We've received an overwhelming response from you guys and want to try and answer all of your questions! So yes, we've put together another 150th episode. On this Srikeitless episode, Chuck and Naren break down the dying question, why is sion called shiv and why do the local cabs in Mumbai have certain surburbs mentioned at the back of them but will go anywhere you like? They also simblify the Easter Islands and talk about the the most remote place on earth, Tristan Da Cunha. Later, they explain the Instagram influencer ecosystem and conduct a ground breaking research on the eponymous Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai? Make sure you buckle up for this rollercoaster of an episode!

We'd like to thank Utsav Mamoria (@whywetravel42), Navin Naronha (@houseofnaronha), @thefraudbrahmin and you anonymous Google form person for sending in your questions!

    Ep. 153: The 150th episode, Part 4

Goodness, another 150th episode? This is a running joke now which we hope carries through till our 200th episode. Yup, we crossed 150 recently, and to celebrate, we asked our fans to send in some questions and boy did we get a lot! In this episode, Chuck & Srikeit simblify Brexit (always a hilarious topic) and Dubai.

Thank you to @Clytone (Instagram), @siddharthdudeja (Instagram) and everyone who sent questions in! We might have one more 150th episode. By which we mean we definitely will.

    Ep. 152: The 150th Episode, Part 3

What, yet another 150th episode? Well, yes. We got way too many requests from our listeners- so you have only yourselves to blame, actually. This week, we have only the young scallywags Chuck and Srikeit, as Naren was... well... contributing to the economy.

In this episode, we look at the effect of various intoxicants on the brain (purely from theoretical research of course), the importance of space travel (not with said intoxicants) and why the damn waist size number is different from actual waist sizes!

Many thanks to @Sreenidish (Twitter) and @mikhailalmeida (Instagram) for sending in these questions.

    Ep. 151: The 150th episode, Part 2

In this second part of our 150th episode (whatever that means), we continue what we did with the first part. As you know, we asked our listeners to send in ideas for things we can Simblify to celebrate this little milestone.

Once again - thank you for the overwhelming response. If you don't like these episodes, you now have only yourselves to blame. Once again, we have a whole bunch of kickass questions, and the trio of Chuck, Srikeit & Naren will try their best to answer them (or, at the very least, entertain you while trying to answer them).

This week: How much would would a (sigh... You know where this goes). Whose job it is to give back change in a bus (you ? The conductor?), and are there other galaxies like ours out there?

Statutory warning: There are some very horrible jokes in here. You've been warned. But hey, if you're a regular listener, you knew that, didn't you?

    Ep. 150: The 150th episode, Part 1

That's right, you let us ramble on unchecked and we'll eventually hit a milestone. So we collectively raise our podcasting bats (or... mics) to acknowledge the deafening cheers that accompany our 150th episode!

To celebrate (or... finding a way out since we were too lazy to do anything) - we asked our dear listeners to send in ideas for things we can Simblify! Thank you for the overwhelming response - so much so that we're going to have multiple 150th episodes! We have a whole spectrum of questions to answer, so let's dive right in. This week: The difference between first world, second world and third world countries, why popping bubble wrap is so satisfying, how aircrafts are able to fly without crashing into each other, and a very very profound question to kick things off by Cyrus of Cyrus Says. Thank you @capefoxalix, @Chloe_Bhatoore, @Arjuncho and @boredbroacha for sending in the questions!

If you like this, there's more such crowdsourced nonsense coming next week - so if you hate these episodes, we now have someone else to partially blame!

    Ep. 149: Cocaine Hippos

    Ep. 149: Cocaine Hippos

This shortie has everything - drugs, lots of sex and the resulting hippos. To make sense of that, join Chuck and Srikeit for this fascinating story of how Pablo Escobar's bizarre legacy continues to bother the Colombian government nearly 30 years after his death. This episode is just like one of Escobar's hippos: short, plump and bloody hilarious!

Ep. 148: On FinTech, startup life & investing - with Satyen Kothari

Ep. 148: On FinTech, startup life & investing - with Satyen Kothari

We've seen a lot of action in the space of financial technology in the last few years. Satyen Kothari knows a thing or five about the space, having started multiple companies, including Citrus Payments and Cube Wealth, his newest venture that aims to make investing simple and relateable. Srikeit and Chuck have a chat with him, traversing lots of terrain - including startup stories, life at Stanford, and how different Silicon Valley is from India. Needless to say, Satyen raises both the average IQ and average net worth of the room considerably. We could have honestly gone on for an hour each on several topics but we've tried to compress it all for a nice, non-technical chat for you guys, and hope you enjoy it!

Ep. 147: The fascinating story of South African cricket and apartheid

Ep. 147: The fascinating story of South African cricket and apartheid

Apartheid. South Africa. Cricket World Cup. Somehow, those three terms seem to be linked uncomfortably together - so the Simblified gang (or, 2/3rds of it anyway) have a look at how South African cricket got themselves in a spot of trouble in the first place. It's a fascinating story of a cricketer called Basil D'Oliviera, racist politicians, some bribery and a lot of circumstances falling in place. The end result: SA didn't play cricket for decades, till their politicians finally came to their senses. Enjoy this shortie, which is more a story than anything else!

Ep. 146: On making crosswords, ft. Tony Sebastian

Crosswords - those quaint old things, delighting pun lovers since time immemorial - are notoriously difficult things to put together (let alone solve). So the guys who make them must be some other-level geniuses only. Your hosts aren't - but luckily, we managed to get someone on the show! Tony Sebastian is a cruciverbalist (yes, that's what they're called) who has set crosswords for The Hindu, and is a wordplay enthusiast (also a nonsense enthusiast, given it's his third appearance on Simblified). Join us as we chat about how he got into crosswords, how he sets them, the different types and how you too can fulfill your pun-making/solving dreams!

    Ep. 145: How Hawk-Eye works

    Ep. 145: How Hawk-Eye works

HOWZAAAAAAAT! Sorry, we had to catch your attention. In this episode, the Simblified guys look at the fascinating technology that is Hawkeye, how it works and how it's used in other sports (including, for some reason, golf, which, for some reason, thinks it's a sport). Anyway, this shortie episode also tells you some fascinating trivia like when the first time it was used was, and how much it costs.

Ep. 144: A lookback at the Cricket World Cup - Part 2

In this episode, Srikeit and Chuck look back at the history of the Cricket World Cup from 1996 to 2019: Highlights, takeaways and funny moments from each of these tournaments. Yes, even 2007, which noone remembers. They are joined by Tony Sebastian (twitter.com/notytony) who is guesting on this episode to fill in for Naren. We hope you enjoy this show and get a little nostalgic, even as you're recovering over the greatest ODI ever.

Ep. 143: Different Strokes - Variants of cricket you might not have heard of

Cricket was introduced by the colonising British all over the world. In many places, the game was absorbed by local communities and transformed into something different. In this episode, your Simblified hosts look at two such variants which emphasize social bonding and pretty much lose the competitive angles.

Ep. 142: A lookback at the Cricket World Cup - Part 1

Ep. 142: A lookback at the Cricket World Cup - Part 1

True hipsters that we are, we've decided to do a series of cricket shows AFTER the CWC19 is over. Some might call us late, but we say there's benefit in being late (like in Lara's batting technique, for instance). Anyway, the Simblified gang look through the World Cup editions 1975 to 1992, each of which were different, a microcosm of the changing times around them. From the quiet, polite, sparse crowds of England 1975 to raucous middle-class noise of Subcontinent 1987. From the low-scoring matches of old to pinch-hitting techniques. We look at it all and make some bad jokes along the way.

Ep. 77: (Rebroadcasting): The Tea Totaller: Ajit Bhaskar tells us all about being a 'Tea scientist'

What happens when three Pun lovers who run a podcast meet their spiritual Punning guru? That's right, a conversation on how to make tea. Ajit Bhaskar, whose puns on Twitter (@ajit_bhaskar) resulted in him being honoured with a unit (the worst Simblified pun is only. 6 Ajits), and whose incredible cooking skills have made many drool over at Instagram (@macroajit), is actually a Ph.D. who now is a food scientist. He joins the Simblified crew for a fascinating chat on what happens behind the scenes of your favourite tea brew.

Ep. 141: Ever Wonder how we predict the weather?

So, yeah, the weather in Mumbai isn't all that great (or is full of romance, petrichor, and other nonsense, if you don't need to travel by public transport). Anyway - we frequently criticize the MET for getting the weather wrong. But they get it right most of the time, and it's pretty darn difficult to ask given that literally anything in the world could change the weather. It was a meteorologist who coined the phrase 'butterfly effect', after all. Chuck and Srikeit look at how the weather is predicted and look back at some ways our ancestors used to do so.

Ep. 139: How to travel on a desi budget (with Utsav Mamoria) - Part 2

This is part 2 of our chat with Utsav Mamoria, on travel. Make sure you check out Part 1 here - https://ivm.today/SIMB-137

Chuck and Naren talk to Utsav Mamoria, who makes his third appearance (!) on the show. The last time, he spoke about how he was preparing for a 3-month sabbatical (Episode 85) - this time, he's back and is ready to share his experiences, stories and most importantly - tips for those who want to travel on a budget. A desi budget. Utsav finished an enviable itinerary at a cost you won't believe. He is hard at work on his travel book, as well - make sure you check it out later in the year. We talk about budgeting for flights, stay, food, sightseeing and more. This is less 'Simblification' and more 'chat with a person very passionate about travel'. He also slips in some beautiful stories, and evangelizes slow travel, as opposed to trying to check off as many items as possible in a day.

After a long rally of 'yes-it-has's and 'oh-really-I-don't-think-so's, scientists have finally agreed that we are now in a new geological epoch which recognizes that humans have significantly changed earth with their activities. Join your Simblified hosts as they delve into what the Anthropocene epoch is and the latest dope on all the happenings.

NEW TO SIMBLIFIED? It's an Indian podcast - probably the best to come from Malad West - that takes things that happen around us, and deconstructs them in a language you can understand, often surmounting several puns and PG Wodehouse references along the way. We aim to make you appear smarter during parties, job interviews, and dates.

    Your hosts (and Twitter / Instagram handles) are Chuck (@chuck_gopal / @chuckofalltrades), Srikeit (@srikeit, @srikeit) and Naren (@shenoyn, @shenoynv).
