    Pitch Perfect

    Pitch Perfect

Okay, we're not 100% convinced this one is a "rom com" (it has a lot of com and a bit of rom if you squint), but it's one of our favorite movies. Pitch Perfect stars Anna Kendrick as Beca, a reluctant college freshman who joins an a cappella group that has seen better days. Can the Barden Bellas defeat their cross-campus rivals, the Treble Makers, and bring home the ICCA title? Horizontal run your way over to your nearest streaming service and check this movie out today!

    An EXTRAORDINARY Whatever We Want

    An EXTRAORDINARY Whatever We Want

Christmas has come early this year for co-host (and megafan of Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist) Khalilah Elliott as she recently sat down with Samantha McIntyre one of the writers and co-executive producers of the tv series and a consulting producer for the soon-to-be-released Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas movie.

Listen in as Samantha shares details of her journey as a comedy writer in Hollywood developing uniquely weird and wonderful works like Unicorn Store starring Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson and writing for tv shows like Married and People of Earth.

The pair also delve into the behind-the-scenes magic that brings this gem of a show to life, re-living their favorite Zoey musical moments, and uncovering what surprises fans can expect from the upcoming movie.

Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas premieres on the Roku Channel on Dec 1.

Max & Zoey & Simon: Talking "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" and Romantic Indecision

Max & Zoey & Simon: Talking "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" and Romantic Indecision

What vibe are you bringing into #shotgirlsummer “I’m Yours” or “I Want You to Want Me”, which would make YOU sweat through your peter pan collar? This week we’re talking about Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and the love triangle between Max, Zoey, and Simon. We’ll discuss the pros of a Max who’s gonna be, gonna be, the guy who’s by your side in life’s toughest moments (hence his sexy Proclaimers cover), whereas Simon is the guy you have an instant connection with, that you can’t get out of your head (hence his sexy “Into You” cover). Then we’ll get into why Zoey has such a hard time choosing between the two, her lack of emotional awareness, and what kind of people are Zoeys in our nonfictional lives. PLUS we share our theories on what the cliffhanger in the finale means, and what we’re expecting next season.

Episode #22: Pitch Perfect (Part 1)

Episode #22: Pitch Perfect (Part 1)
Bridesmaids was a big hit. So was Glee. Why not mix the two together? That seems to be the reasoning behind Pitch Perfect, a musical-comedy about a competitive a cappella group. It wants to like Glee but for college students, but is there really that much of a difference? How are the musical arrangements? And will Anna Kendrick ever not be awesome? Tune in to find out if this movie is aca-mazing or just tone deaf. SHOW NOTES: 0:22 - Intro and clip 3:17 - General thoughts 12:39 - Show close DON'T FORGET: You can contact the show by emailing cinemafix@filmgeekradio.com. Thanks for listening!
