NWA World Championship Wrestling 8/19/89 (00:01:26)
Or… Maybe Not… In the biggest example of WCW being WCW, the company reaches an all-time low. It’s the biggest faux pas in company history, and that covers a lot of ground… instead of airing the show taped for 8/19, the NWA winds up accidentally airing the episode of WCW from 3 weeks prior on 7/29!!! By the time they realized the mistake and found the correct tape, WCW had been off the air for 45 minutes. We discuss the ludicrousy of it all here.

And Brian Pillman finishes up action in the ring before joining Terry Funk as a guest of Funk’s Grill. It’s too bad Norman is waiting for Flyin’ Brian. Plus, there’s a new Top 10 and it’s WNN as Gordon Solie talks Mike Tyson, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, and the mysterious Z-Man!

    NWA Worldwide 8/26/89 (01:40:04)
NWA World Champion Ric Flair squares off against Brad Armstrong. The Skyscrapers obliterate the Ding Dongs, destroying them in a match before removing their masks and putting an end to the gimmick in a fitting fashion. The Steiner Brothers meet The State Patrol. We get out first look at the NEW-look Robin Green hours before the vignette airs which actually explains the angle. Oh WCW, you never disappoint. Action with Sting and Flyin’ Brian, Interviews with the likes of Tommy Rich, the Birds, Terry Funk, Gary Hart, Jim Cornette, and the Steiners. Who will be crowned the A&W Cream Soda Singles King of the Slam? Episode 50 - Tyler Rumi, Co-founder/CEO Good Buds

Episode 50 - Tyler Rumi, Co-founder/CEO Good Buds

The story behind Good Buds is almost as good as the cannabis they produce. The Salt Spring Island company uses fertile soil, sun, rain and ocean mist to come up with some really unique strains. It literally all started in a van. We chatted about the growing process and what attracted him to it in the first place as well as the growing process for Good Buds. We also discussed how they make their solventless hash and rosin and what products we can expect to seen down the road from Good Buds. David Wylie of the oz and I discussed the latest in This Week in Cannabis News, and it's not good news for Canopy Growth, while medical marijuana in the United States is helping with opioid addiction and a lot of weed is being grown by farmers in Canada. Chris Ianson of Nova Cannabis Jasper Ave is our educator and we explored Mazar X GSW from Royal High. It has some Afghanistan roots with some potency and flavour and the perfect indica for a night filled with movies and the couch. It's a good strain if you somewhat new to cannabis, but feel you are ready for a step up as the 18% THC is a step up. Malka Labell of the Green Generation Company joined me for The Business of Cannabis and we discussed who some who started on the medical or legacy side of things are making their way into the rec market. Why that is important and how to spot imposters. Not only do those from the legacy market bring with them knowledge, but customers as well. Our Cannabis Question - with a free Regal Cigar up for grabs -  is about the coolest place you've been high? The Cannabis Character is Slater from Dazed and Confused and you can get 50% off a DNA kit from Lobo Genetics by using the promo code provided in the episode.

    Freed to Kill Again

    Freed to Kill Again

When Nicola Gogarty’s phone rang on 17th July, 2015, as she waited to board a plane in Dublin airport for a holiday, she didn’t know her life was about to change forever. News that her loving, fit and healthy father had been found dead was the first of a series of earth-shattering revelations which sparked a four year battle to expose a catalogue of failings by authorities that meant a convicted murderer was released to kill again.

Adam Pranica officially joins the Nation of Conversation!

He’s the host of other amazing shows on the Maximum Fun Network, Like The Greatest Generation and Friendly Fire, but he also used to be a HUGE wrestling fan. It all started when he learned that his grandfather could very easily be mistaken for Ric Flair and blossomed from there.

Even though he’s lapsed as a fan over the years, he’s still got great memories of being huge fan when wrestling was at its zenith in pop culture; think back to the Nitro and Thunder days. Now, he’s ready to rekindle his fandom with Mike, Hal and Danielle!

    The Beat Down

In this brand new segment, the panel takes a special look at each story beat of a significant wrestling saga and explains what made it so special.

For this first installment, in honor of his big win against Tetsuya Naito at Dominion, the team will examine Chris Jericho’s 2008 rivalry against Shawn Michaels. It led to tons of great matches, a brand new version of the Jericho character and was so great that Y2J has since called it the best story of his career.

Hosted by Hal Lublin, Danielle Radford ,Mike Eagle and Adam Pranica

Produced by Julian Burrell for Maximum Fun.

In that spirit, he’s got a lot to say about Hiromu Takahashi winning the 2018 Best of the Super Juniors tournament, Kenny Omega vs Kazuchika Okada IV and Chris Jericho vs. Tetsuya Naito!

Plus, the team will discuss tons of things from WWE, including Baron Corbin’s new job as the constable of RAW, Becky Lynch scoring the tap-out victory against Charlotte and the biggest cliches that both main shows revisited this week.

Aubrey’s upcoming comic book is The Comic Book Story of Professional Wrestling. It’s available for pre-order now
