    Hesitation

    Hesitation
The urgency of the situation in Lot’s home intensifies. What about the sanctifying affect of the believer in and unequal yoke? What was it about Lot that made his sons-in-law think he was only joking? Where was Lot’s treasure and why did he hesitate? What was the difference between Lot’s request and Abraham’s that God preserve a city?

    Was God Unjust?

    Was God Unjust?
Why did God destroy Sodom and Gomorrah and the other cities? There are some troubling questions about this whole event. Why didn’t God do the things in Sodom that He did in Capernaum, if, as Jesus said, it would have resulted in the cities not being destroyed? And since He didn’t do those things, was God really just in what he did? What was Capernaum's sin that was so much greater than the exceeding wickedness of Sodom? What does that mean for you and me?

    War of the Kings

    War of the Kings
Four kings of Mesopotamia go to war against the five kings of the Pentapolis. Abram mobilizes his men to rescue his nephew Lot and his family. This is a battle in the ongoing war between the Seed of the Woman and the Seed of the Serpent. What is the real issue of this story?

    God Rememered Abraham

    God Rememered Abraham
As Lot arrives safely in Zoar, his wife lingers behind, longing for her life in Sodom. What are the consequences? What does it matter to us? The important thing we need to know about Abraham's prayer for Lot. What about the Lots in our lives? It is a long way from Bethel to a cave in Zoar. It took Lot fifteen years to travel there.

    Negotiating With God

    Negotiating With God
As Abraham’s three visitors prepare to leave, God reveals to Abraham what he is intending to do with Sodom and Gomorrah. Why does God choose to reveal His plans to Abraham? What is the source of the outcry and why does God say that He will know if things are not as bad as the outcry? What really was Abraham’s concern that prompted him to enter into this involved negotiation with God. What was Abraham’s personal investment in God’s answer to his prayer?

    Welcome To Sodom

    Welcome To Sodom
The two angelic visitors arrive at the gate of the city of Sodom. They are greeted there by Abraham’s nephew, Lot. What were the real problems with Sodom and her sister cities? Lot, the Righteous? What is the significance of Lot sitting in the city gate? This is the beginning of the most terrible night in Lot’s life. How did he arrive at this point, having begun by following the promise in Abraham? What do we do when we’re left with no good choices?

    History of Israel: The Beginning...Abraham

    History of Israel: The Beginning...Abraham

The Bible tells amazing personal stories, but what about the bigger picture? What was Israel's place in the world during Bible times? This episode is the first in the series looking at the history of Israel and it's place in the ancient world. This will give us context to when these events took place.

The first episode is all about Abraham with a little about Isaac and Ishmael. There's also some discussion about the formation of kingdoms and how it differed in the land of Canaan. While these are personal stories, they set the stage for what is to come in later episodes.

Episode #163 - Ireland Tour 2023 - False Starts and Secret Bar Shows

Episode #163 - Ireland Tour 2023 - False Starts and Secret Bar Shows

Following the Japan tour in spring 2023, Night Demon traveled to the UK for a run of UK / Ireland shows that was planned to commence with an appearance at the Dominion Festival in Newcastle.  Unfortunately, that festival was canceled on very short notice, leaving the band in limbo for a few days.  In this week's episode, you will hear how they spent that time.  The centerpiece was an off-the-cuff covers gig at an open mike night at a blues bar in Newcastle.  The episode includes audio of this entire performance, including a Jarvis collaboration with Russ Tippins from Satan. Night Demon then traveled to their home base in Derry, Northern Ireland, for a couple days of downtime.  The guys describe their philosophies on how to spend time off on the road.  Also, Jarvis explains why in a very real way Northern Ireland is home.

    Purpose & Promise 8 - Genesis: Abraham's Life (Ch 18-23)

    Purpose & Promise 8 - Genesis: Abraham's Life (Ch 18-23)

Abraham's call is the first test of his covenant obedience, but it's certainly not his last! What should we do in our modern time with the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah? How do we reconcile the treatment of Hagar the concubine and her son, Ishmael? And what about the binding of Isaac, with the near sacrifice of the promised child? Chris, Alex & Jo tackle these tough scenes of Genesis as we continue to explore the life of Abraham.

    Abraham's 7 insights

    Abraham's 7 insights

Who wants to live in a tent? Millions don't have a choice. But Abraham did and today we'll find out why. Something permanent is coming ... and it is near. This wide-ranging episode looks at migrants, including the recent ship full of them who were lost at sea. We turn to Abraham for seven insights about what is important, and what the future holds.
Then our journey takes us to the subject of the kind of faithfulness that Abraham modeled. The a definition of this elusive way of thinking may surprise you. And to trace the footsteps of God, hidden in plain sight, we meditate on tragedies that have haunted the Jewish people across the centuries -- and yet simultaneously provide reassurance of the destiny of joys and blessings that await them -- and all of us.

It is Near focuses on the alarming and the hopeful; the frightful and the forgotten; the blinding glare of giant problems, and the dark secrets that lurk even more menacingly in the shadows of global trends. "Amazing Grace" may have taught our hearts to fear, but for most Christians and non-Christians alike, divine grace as commonly conceptualized does not those fears relieve. It is Near will be informative, accessible, comforting, and challenging to every thinking person. It will call Christians to account and provide a breath of fresh air for secularists who, for once, would like to hear a conciliatory and intellectually honest message from a thoughtful Christian voice. Sodom and Gomorrah – The City E5

Sodom and Gomorrah – The City E5

If Babylon is the worst city in the Bible, then Sodom and Gomorrah are a close second. The injustice and oppression in Sodom and Gomorrah are so pronounced that God sends a flood of justice to completely wipe out these two cities. In this episode, Tim and Jon discuss the theme of the city and the darkest parts of human nature.

    Sodom and Gomorrah

    Sodom and Gomorrah
DAY 17 (Genesis 18-20): After meeting with Hagar and then Abraham, the Angel of Yahweh leaves and then returns with two other men of His own kind, and Abraham invites Yahweh and His two companions to stay with him and enjoy a meal together. We then learn about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, a story both incredible and bizarre, but which warns us of God's wrath against sinners.
